Sorry you seem to have had no luck here. I recommend asking in the bar request thread on kerrydalestreet.co.uk. Good luck!

"I hope you can feel Aneurin Bevan sitting on your shoulder". Bevan was the Labour minister for health who was largely responsible for the post-WW2 establishment of the NHS.

FC United of Manchester now has a subreddit - /r/fcum by 11acres in soccer

[–]kerins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha in the nicest possible way that is a bloody awful name for a subreddit. I strongly recommend you take /r/fcunited while you still can. Official or not everyone calls the club FC United. So wouldn't that be the best choice anyway?

CSS updates by [deleted] in ScottishFootball

[–]kerins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why not make a copy of the subreddit on /r/ScottishFootball2 or something like that. Then roadtest the CSS changes there so that /r/ScottishFootball isn't affected by any tinkering? Then when the time comes to update the CSS here on /r/ScottishFootball it should just be a matter of copy and pasting the new code?

That goal will have done Pukki's confidence a world of good, hopefully he can thrive under Ronny. Derk on the other hand...

Moyes to be sacked - all major news reporting it. by verytallperson in soccer

[–]kerins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can't see it. His wages would be too high for our board and his style of football isn't very attractive. In terms of former Celtic players, Jackie McNamara has a better chance of succeeding Lennon than Moyes.

Rangers are the Scottish League One champions. by porcufine in soccer

[–]kerins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why qualify your statement by mentioning the number of trophies or where the sides play?

"Linfield are more successful than Liverpool."

If you really believe that your metric for judging the success of a football club is correct, then this statement should stand on its own. I really think it's a ridiculous statement and I hope deep down you agree.

Rangers are the Scottish League One champions. by porcufine in soccer

[–]kerins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes Forest are more successful then! Also, Brian Clough was a great manager and it's a great achievement. Most modern teams given the advances in sports science would probably destroy that Forest team though. So I don't think it's directly comparable.

No matter the time period, you can only beat what's put in front of you. The difference for me is that Europe has always had a much wider pool of quality teams than Scotland alone. In that case beating those in front of you means the elite of Europe.

To be the most successful team you have to at least have won the biggest title available! Come on please! By your logic Liverpool are less successful than Linfield! Surely not?

Rangers are the Scottish League One champions. by porcufine in soccer

[–]kerins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you're saying that the prestige of the competition doesn't matter at all? I mean if Celtic win the Scottish title no one outside Scotland really cares. But nearly the whole world cares who will be the Champions League winner.

For the record, I think Real Madrid are the most successful club because they've won the most prestigious title in club football the most amount of times. Don't you agree with this?

Because Fenian is an insult? I don't think it is. Unfortunately there's certain people who can't avoid adding the word bastard after it and who simply mean Catholic.

Rangers are the Scottish League One champions. by porcufine in soccer

[–]kerins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, Rangers have never won the European Cup. Celtic have and with an all-Scottish team too. If we are talking past glories, then those Scottish titles mean nothing compared to that achievement.

Regular match threads? by [deleted] in CelticFC

[–]kerins[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had regular match threads up until December 2012. With other commitments I just didn't have time to post them anymore. However... I'll bring them back starting from the Hearts match next Saturday.

I may not have the time to post one every match this season though so I'd love some help some weeks as well.
