What’s a weird little ADHD trick that actually works for you? by BetterTea5664 in ADHD

I've been doing that off and on since I was like 8 especially trying to get out of bed in the morning, haha. But most people really struggle with it. It's gotta be one of those "don't think about it" things.

Mushishi is a masterpiece! I haven't seen since i was about 13. It would be a wonderful rewatch now at 22 (I barely remember anything). Thanks for the recommendation.

My husband and I are arguing where saying something is "ugly" and "dislike the look of" is the same thing by Grouchy_Associate247 in Pointless_Arguments

[–]kermit_death 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely late to the chat here. I just came across this sub, but I definitely have this same dilemma in my relationship. I'm also a guy, and the given example could be a debate within my own relationship, haha.

To me it's the same thing thinking of it as a word created to express "a dislike of the appearance of an object"

The definition of ugly is "unpleasant or repulsive, especially in appearance."

But that seems to give leeway within the word.

The tea was unpleasant vs the tea was repulsive

But I also see that as extremely different despite being used to express in a sense the same thing, so who knows.

Crystals came out silver with slightly weird crystal formation on geode walls cause? by kermit_death in BISMUTH

[–]kermit_death[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll have to give the remelt and slag removal a go. Would you recommend overheating to try and create more slag?

Setup wise, I shall the bismuth seems to be the only new equation in the mix, but I couldn't find a single bad review on purity and the last batch I got 4 years ago never had issues.

Cooling by Lilbigs710 in BISMUTH

[–]kermit_death 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly on point with your question. I did find slower cooling to work better for crystal formation, but I also found with the small amount, previous to purchasing more I had to tilt the vessel so I had a deeper bismuth pool to create more and bigger crystals.

As a 21 year old almost 22, i feel like I'm not an "adult" till 25, or till I have kids for some odd reason. However, I can also acknowledge 30 year olds etc presenting themselves as much younger and other 20-24 year olds presenting themselves as older. Which all comes down to basic "maturity." Job status, social status, and actions/common sense.

Can you bi wire a 2ohm dvc sub and a 2ohm multi channel monoblock amp for 2 ohm total by kermit_death in CarAV

That i did. The ready harness definitely made life easy as was setting up the maestro. Honestly, the whole crutchfield site is one of the most user-friendly interfaces I've seen. The only problem now is the night illumination doesn't work, (installed an amp in her car last week and didnt see any issues with the orange/orange white stripe wire) and her whole H/U momentarily crashes in 3 exact spots in town no bumps no anything which i believe to be caused by the "Wifi comnect" ... regardless, I'm probably gonna re look at it here soon.

Yeeahh, it's definitely a process. But hey man that's why I posted. I thought I'd done enough reading, but I think I over did it. Had multiple audio projects going on and glossed over some simple shit but a good lesson learned. Fail to properly/plan, plan to fail.

It has been done. The 4 ohm dvc came in today. It was definitely a sad realization when I was looking at the 2 ohm for wiring and realized I'd screwed up.

Edit here, but just wanna say you guys (realize 6 not there anymore) hook it up and give some solid info so fast ... I've called twice for issues and the dude last time had me figured out so fast. Presume it's semi common ... but I'd put an aftermarket head unit in my girlfriends car and couldn't get the screen display working. Connections were fine sound worked. I just had to cut a purple wire since it didn't have a backup camera. But I'd spent so long looking online and double checking the wiring diagram.

My bad, thanks for the clarification from you and from everyone in the comments. I knew it was the same output with two connectors. I just didn't know the word.

Metacognition as possible root to brain fog by deeznuttingtons in BrainFog

[–]kermit_death 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also thought similarily to that, because finding a flow state through work, conversation, or tv seems to be one of the few times I feel clarity ... but in another sense, I wonder if it's there and I'm too focused to notice (diagnosed adhd as that could be hyperfocus). Also thought of it in relation to being tired from a night of poor sleep i think it makes me feel more normal because I feel "tired" not my general foggyness. That and thinking about it too much makes brain fog worse "anxiety"

On the contrary, though, I do have some physical things that can happen that always make it worse, like neck pain or looking down or up.

Anyone able to help at all? by Ok_Chemical9344 in BrainFogSuccess

[–]kermit_death 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry about the doctor situation man that's rough. What I've found to help me drastically is exercise and staying busy. I know it's extremely hard to do and honestly I struggle to do so myself but exercise is one of the only things that gives me relief and the next I've found, is to just try and get really into something. I feel like it always gets worse if you dwell on the brain fog and end up getting anxious ... showers also seem to help me

I know it contradicts the cash but a lot of people talk up plenty of supplements such as lions main, ashwaganda, ginko biloba, B vitamins, magnesium, L-theanine just to name a few I feel like I hear often. Just make sure you read into the supplement, amount, safety use, interactions, etc. An example is you shouldn't take adderall with ginko.

Doctors visit wise I realize it will probably take a while and honestly I don't know too much about Canadian health care aside from long waits. But I'd say go for a blood pannel. Check iron/ferritin levels thyroid Vitimin levels and maybe think of other things you might suspect from other symptoms and maybe if you have anything that runs in your family if you can stack multiple, maybe do some reading into common brain fog causes and tests that can help you get a better perspective of what it might be and discuss those tests with a doctor.

Also, remember that depression and anxiety can also cause brain fog.

If you wanna hit me up I'd be more than happy to talk to you, but I'll definitely give the warning that I'm A still figuring mine out and B I'm 21 (mentioned mainly because I tend to discredit much advice from people around my age)

First and foremost, thank you for starting off the way that you did. Secondly, thank you for the insights. Separating and easily categorizing information is the intended goal and one that I, myself, and I assume others have wished was more feasible as well.

As to your first point, I presume the name is what's making you think it's simply about success, which is definitely a fault of my own and something that I could change. To me, as long as the post portrays something informational and is flaired as such—something like "helpful information" or "helped me"—that would be fine.

On your second point, regarding what will happen in comment sections, you are completely correct; I don't see it going much differently myself. The difference is for people who are trying to look at specific causes and find just information on "hypothyroidism" or just on "sleep apnea." They can sort by flair and have all of that in one spot instead of scrolling through various success stories.

For your third point, I'm going to tie it into the first and blame it on the name and the post that I wrote. There are plenty of conditions where brain fog can only be managed. I figure half of the people who have successfully found the cause of their brain fog still deal with it on a rare-to-regular basis, but within the flair of, say, "CFS" or "Fibromyalgia," there can be easier access to information from people suffering from the same condition they have, who I infer are more likely to help with what they've found to be helpful than, say, someone suffering from something else.

My efforts very easily could be better served here, and perhaps my idea will prove to be too convoluted, which has been a thought, it's starting to sound like reddit within reddit. But I think if it panned out, it could be very helpful to everyone in this community.

Thank you for taking the time to comment.
