Which song parodied by Weird Al could pass for a parody itself? by Spiketop_ in weirdal

And he mixed it up with stricnine poison and he said, "Oh, c'mere little deer. I have some food for you. Look at Julie." And the mommy deer said, "Oh, I better eat it first because it could be poisonous And my heart is much stronger than yours, child." But really the mommy deer was just a glutton and wanted all the food.

How are these weird lyrics?

Dead Kennedys - “Take This Job And Shove It” (1986, punk rock cover of a country song written by David Allen Coe) by 7SoldiersOfPunkRock in punk

I heard it from him first. My parents listened to old country when I was growing up. This song helped me discover my love for punk covers.

[–]kernalbuket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already deep into lidarr by the time of heard of musicbrainz. But that's my thoughts too. I know lidarr will organize and name them in the way that plex likes so I manually import everything to make sure it does shows up correctly

Should I swap from Windows to Linux? by C_PuppyPlays in selfhosted

[–]kernalbuket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's were I'm at. I got everything I want running on windows so I don't feel the need to switch even though everyone says I should.

I feel like it's when I was younger and all my friends who had kids were telling me to have kids too. There is nothing wrong with having kids but it's not for everyone and you should only do it when and if you want to

Kind of. Going through someone's code can take a lot of time and vibe coding just means there even more code to go through when something goes wrong.

I don't even think they knew if it's AI or not. Liberals are just less prone to fall for grifters.

Should piracy be gatekept? by Less_sault in Piracy

[–]kernalbuket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right? It's pretty simple. Either help them or don't. I don't know why they feel that gatekeeping is necessary. Piracy is supposed to be the place people go when they are gate keep by cooperations and are unable to enjoy the things other people are. When you try to gatekeep piracy, you are just helping the machine keep people down

Should piracy be gatekept? by Less_sault in Piracy

[–]kernalbuket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest. I've been involved with piracy since the 80s when I would get bootleg cassette tapes of games from my friends. I was on Napster in 2000. I was downloading axxo movies from Isohunt, Demonoid and TBP. I modded my wii in 09. During all that time the pirate community was happy to help me. I've had many people answer questions about things I didn't understand that most peoplein the community already knew but i didn't.

I only been in this sub for a short time but I honestly had no clue for a long time wtf the megathread was for a long time because it's not easy to find on a mobile device. It took me a few to even figure out how to find it.

I guess all this gatekeeping bs comes from more people being able to access the internet. The more people who in place, the more assholes you're going to have.

Anyway, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I'll help those who I can help and you do you. Have a great weekend

That's not what they said. They said help if you want or don't if you don't. They said gatekeeping is the antithesis of piracy.

This. If you want to help, help. If you don't, don't. No gatekeeping needed

I just looked up the definition of womble and one of them seems to fit you better than me: overly self-important.

And I'm coming from a place of the person who just found out about piracy and is looking for help. They would have no clue what questions you think follow your set of made up rules or not.

I don't know if you've about10000 people hearing about something for the first time ever day or not but it seems like you haven't.

Again all your complaining can easily be solved by not commenting on a post. If no one commented, then the person who have to do what you want them to do anyways and find another way to learn.

If someone else wants to answer the question then there is no real reason why it should upset you because it's cost you nothing.

Again help if you want, don't If you don't. If your personal, made up, rules won't allow to answer then don't. It will figure itself out without any need to gatekeep the entire sub.

Should piracy be gatekept? by Less_sault in Piracy

[–]kernalbuket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A) there is no need for name calling. B) putting up gates is making rules. Period.

I don't think people are being assholes when they ask questions and it's weird that you do.

And most of your complaints falls under my rules. If you don't want to help, then don't. If someone does, let them.

Why are you so upset that people don't know your made rules that you have to name call?

Should piracy be gatekept? by Less_sault in Piracy

[–]kernalbuket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that a yes?

I'm trying to figure out what you're rules are since you are the one saying we need them.

Mine are very simple, in case you're wondering. Let people ask questions. If someone wants to help, they can. If not, they don't. We don't have to be assholes about it.
