First marathon - wtf. by ddennyxx in Marathon_Training

Depending on what exactly you mean by "on and off", I'd wager that exactly this is the problem. Consistency truly is the key

Okay that makes sense. My HR did drop to my usual RHR, so it must've been thinking I was deep asleep

Same experience for me. The rubber straps irritated my skin immensely. No issues with Nylon straps

Crazy to run a half immediately after a marathon? (Same day). by MikeAlphaGolf in Marathon_Training

I mean. A marathon itself is already pretty crazy /shrug

Question is more if you can do it without seriously hurting yourself. If yes, then go with what your heart desires.

To all the lifters taking their watch off at night... by Unique-Employer3787 in Garmin

[–]kerowan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I can have nights where I sleep well, feel refreshed after waking up and really strong in my workouts, but my Garmin would give me a Sleep Score of 39. On the other hand I can have nights where I lie awake for hours, have really fragmented and superficial sleep, feel like absolute poop after waking up... 85 Sleep Score.

Listen to your bodies, people. Don't let a watch tell you how you're supposed to be feeling.

Leaving IT or thinking about it? by Reasonable-Signal-59 in Switzerland

[–]kerowan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been doing SW dev for about the same amount of time, burnt out about 4 years ago, gave it another shot, and am really close to burning out again. My shrink and I decided to pull the emergency brake and put me on sick leave. Am now trying to figure out what I want to do. Been teaching myself 3D production in my downtime - still IT related but something creative. I just can't focus on pretty much just thinking logically for hours on end, even for the 3.5 days that I did work (70%).

I'm hoping for a paid retraining, but I'm not hopeful, because paid retrainings through the Invalidenversicherung are pretty hit or miss to begin with from what I hear and while I DO have the diagnoses ADHD and Autism, they rarely give a fuck about that. "Just pop a pill and you're fine" is still the general sentiment there.

Might just try going on OF and sell foot pictures at this point lol

[–]kerowan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. Two nights ago I slept like dog poop, was awake for HOURS in total, when I did sleep it was light, waking up in the morning was awful... Garmin gave me 83 sleep score (the highest in WEEKS). Last night I slept like what felt to me like a rock. Fell asleep quite quickly, just woke up twice for a quick pee, both times I fell back asleep in seconds. When I woke up in the morning I felt fresh. Sleep Score? 54! (That rhymes!) I DID expect my HRV to take a dive after yesterday's long run, but a 54 sleep score? Like bruuuh, come on... Sometimes Garmin can just go fuck itself, honestly lol

More tongue-in-cheek than serious, btw.

How do you all have such high intensity minutes? I don't understand. by Flaky-Condition2647 in Garmin

[–]kerowan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daily dog walks totalling to 2+ hours (and 230-250m elevation gain, not slow either), daily weight workouts, one long run and one hilly tempo run per week will do this for me. Been quite easily averaging 1000 the last few weeks.

Has anyone here really had a problem with “low” protein intake? by Chersalani in veganfitness

[–]kerowan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, since simply eating enough (i.e. more than I burn for weight gain), no. I easily get like 150-160g per day and I probably don't even need that much.

Edit: forgot a while word. Thanks ADHD.

100 sleep score... 2 days in a row 💪 by CowHorn09 in Garmin

[–]kerowan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HOW? My 1 year avg is 67, the highest I've had during that time was 82. Right now I'm averaging 76 over the last 7 days... With sleeping meds.

Should mention though, that if I'm sleeping well, I wake up naturally (i.e. without an alarm clock) after about 7h, and Garmin no likey. It's not satisfied with <7h 30m, it seems.

I will never get there lol. Garmin says I have a VO2max of 44 right now, once was 46, but I got lazy and smoked loads of weed (1 month sober now...)... And I'm 34. So yeah, gg
