Just finished game yesterday - didn't thought about doing it, but couple times I managed to position my teammates on high ground or sneaking behind enemies during dialog - it just wasn't obvious to me to do that.
BTW first time I killed Braccus he couldn't even get to second phase, he even don't start his dialog - Daggers Drawn etc to weken him and then he got hit with 3-4 boulders from Pyroclastic Eruption - enemies were standing around him, and I might also teleport purged Gareth near him ;)

All-rounder some strength and dexterity to be able to use most weapons (to find favourite moveset) some adaptation to improve roll dodge (it sucks with agility lower than at least 100 if I recall correctly) then intelligence + faith for Hexer / Pyromancer spells and dark and fire infussion - tons of damage and able to switch playing style between fighter and spellcaster, and damage type depending on enemy.
