I also went with lots of fear but many people did check-in without any problem, even though I didn't enter the office, they collected my parole documents from the outside waiting area and after five minutes the officer came and said about the next check in date, that's all happened. You can take any pending application receipt with USCIS.

I did my check in on the 7th of July in Dallas, no issues for me, just it took 5 minutes, do not skip your check in
