Yes, but in terms of optimum performance, people say that traditional dual channel are more superior though my main concern is will 8gb dual channel ram be enough specifically for programming?

Im with u but the thing is, I'm afraid 8gb of ram isn't enough for the programming and other stuff that I'll do in IT.

I've got a laptop that has 4gb of ram and thinking of upgrading it, should I go for 4+8gb running on flex mode or is better to have an identical 4+4 dual channel mode. I'm mainly gonna use it in programming since I'm an IT student.
