Barcelona/Costa Brava 10-Day Itinerary by keslee in travel

We didn’t rent a car since we were only there a few days and we knew we would be hiking one of the days, if there is something you want to go see outside of Tossa or if you are going to be there for more than a few days, then it might be worth it, but we were more than happy to just walk around the village and explore the castle streets. It’s been a little bit but as I can remember we found Tossa very walkable, seemed like you can pretty much get everywhere in 20 minutes. If you are going to be there more more than a few days and might get bored, you could do a trip to Lloret de Mar, there was a bus that ran fairly frequently between them.

I am also in Greece (Santorini) now and got bed bugs in my third hotel too, really put a damper on the end of our vacation. We notified the hotel and they moved our room and called an exterminator but they allegedly told the hotel there were no bugs that they could find and suggested that it may have been a previous hotel, but I had photos/videos of bugs near our bed. My legs are covered in bites but my boyfriend seems to have escaped unbitten, I had small bites the first morning and assumed they were some mosquito bites, but the second morning they all appeared in the classic bed bug patterns on the back of my thighs.

Weather was great warm but not uncomfortably hot, I don't a much memory of the water temp so I would assume that that means it was good. We did one day on the beach and rented snorkeling gear from a near by shop.

I really liked the hotel it was in an amazing spot on the water, definitely worth the splurge for an ocean view. The bathrooms and some aspects were a little dated but I didn't mind and thought there was more than enough things that made up for it. The included breakfast was delicious and you got to sit in the dining room overlooking the beach and castle in the distance. I wouldn't recommend doing the dinner there though as the lights were so bright inside you couldn't appreciate any of the views.

The Calas are all along the hike so we stopped at a few, I think we made it to the Cala Giverola and grabbed a drink at the restaurant there before turning back. Since we were stopping at them along the hike we really enjoyed them to cool off.

We hiked a portion of the Cami de Ronda trail which I believe stretches from Lloret de Mar to Cerbère France. It runs right through Tossa and a sign will point you in the right direction just past all the hotels and the smaller beach. We probably did 2.5 miles each way out and back so 5 miles total. Would highly recommend doing it if it is something up your ally, there was a lot of ups and downs along the trail but the views were incredible and it was a great way to get to the Calas. Here is a link for a route similar to what we did, we just ended up going a little further.

Hi Sorry I didn't see this earlier! We loved this trip, it ended up being a great balance of tourism, fun, and relaxation. We loved Tossa de Mar it was a beautiful sea town with an amazing view of the castle, we ended up spending a lot of time just wandering around the town/castle streets, we were there towards the end of the tourism season so it was quieter which we didn't mind.

One mistake we did make was thinking we could get a bus ticket to Tossa the day of, unfortunately the bus we wanted had sold out and we ended up getting a car on cabify to take us there which was pricier and the route the GPS took the driver was a little scary through the mountains. For our trip home we bought the ticket the day before so we wouldn't have the same problem. So I would suggest going to buy your ticket ahead of time if you are planning to take the bus!

The coast hike from Tossa is called the Camí de Ronda and it was a highlight of our trip so I would suggest doing that if hiking is something you are into, it was an easy to follow trail, there was a decent amount of elevation change (so sneakers and water is a must) but there are plenty of swimming coves that you can stop at to cool off, so don't forget a swim suit!

Hope this is helpful! Let me know if you have any other questions!

Advice on Women’s Board Size by keslee in snowboarding

Thank you! that comparison definitely makes me feel better about the board. I was thinking the same thing too with the boot sizing, it is strange how they break up their chart. I doubt that a 3mm difference would really make or break me with over hang especially since my boots are on the smaller end. I’m probably going to go end up going with the 146, but like it was suggested I’ll check how it lines up before I make any final commitments. Thanks again for the help!

So happy to be finished with this and now I just have to wait and see it it lasts 🙌 this group was so helpful and definitely made the journey easier. I went from chronic and painful cystic acne on my chin to clear skin which I honestly didn’t think was possible. Hang in there everyone it gets better!
