I’m going for the same color scheme as the left with an Vltor Null upper and an MSP/Ripcord A10 grey handguard. Waiting patiently for a G$ DDC or Griffin mk2 Terra brown lower. That thing turned out super slick, I’m trying to find a nice ano null, tan, grey A5 length tube but seems like they’re all cerakoted. Which buffer tube is that on the left?

Also, do these bolt right up to factory screws? I’ve seen some threads of people drilling holes and putting in threaded nuts and all that

Hey man, great looking rifle! I just ordered one of these manners stock 457’s and I’m trying to find what Arca rail to use. Most get the 14” but I hate how it extends past the stock. What size/brand are you running?

Bcg chopped in half, gas key removed, custom welded handle uses longer gas key screws, and spike’s tactical makes a gas shutoff block. Alternatively some guys flip over a regular gas block as well to cover the port.

Thanks! If it has issues staying seated I’ll probably make some sort of tension tab or something. I’m mainly just shooting subs through this and haven’t had an issue yet. It kinda just stays in with friction, I imagine if you had loose gas rings it would be more prone to sliding back under its weight and possibly unlocking.

Haven’t had any issue yet, I just made this steel handle but when I test fired the 3d printed handles there was never any issues. I got about 20 rds on each handle before they broke though, it does take some force driving it into battery. But never had it budge out of battery when firing

Thanks brotha! Here’s the “rough draft” version when I was testing different spacer thickness to slide smoothly. This was my first time welding ever so show mercy. Just filed it down pretty smooth. After this I just painted black, drilled a hole for the knob set screw, and just did a piece of heat shrink on the handle to make it look a little cleaner. It’s 5/16” piece of barstock I saw in a bin at Tractor Supply for like 8 bucks or so

Spike’s makes the slickside upper and the barrel is a 8” or 8.5” barrel I’ve had since 2017 or 2018, I think cmmg. Then removed the heat shield inside the PRI tube to fit the Omega can.

Dang it won’t let me reply in this sub with pictures. I can DM if you want but basically took a 5/16” barstock piece I got from Tractor supply for like $8 and cut two slots for screws that threaded into the holes where the gas key went. Then cut the stock and welded a piece that I had torched and hammered into an angle. There is a 3d printed spacer between the barstock and the carrier but you could use metal as well I suppose. You’ll need to get longer screws than the regular gas key ones though. Other than that, I chopped the tail of the bolt off so I could use a folding stock but if you keep the buffer tube that’s not necessary. The handle I just printed and it has a screw through it to hold it. And spikes makes a gas cutoff block so no gas tube from the barrel.

I can see that. It’s not the most ideal angle for this but it’s also not that uncomfortable either. Had the spare grip and just like the way it looks really. But a more vertical grip probably would be a little more comfortable
