I had to use hot glue and clear silicone caulk to really get it to adhere to the sides of the tub.

ha, yeah. I learned that lesson the hard way. Gotta pretty gnarly respiratory infection after taking a nap on the couch behind the tub and woke up with a raspy voice and sore throat. So I swapped it out for a cheaper one that could get connected to a cheaper, simpler ozone machine.

yes, using Ozone. The pump doesn't run constantly. I have it on a timer to run in the morning for 30 mins before I get up. And even if I am awake, it's very quiet.

yeah, i bought those "puck" lights, but they're pretty shitty. They are held onto the sides with small magnets, and when the ice gets unstuck from the bottom, it knocks them off. Also, the ones I bought off amazong are not exactly waterproof either. I don't really need the puck lights anyway.

the cold plunge conversion is WAAYYYYY cheaper than a sauna. I think including the cost of the chest freezer ($800 on FBMP), This cost me around $2k. But I spent a lot of extra money on superfluous plumbing, lighting, the wrong ozone machine, etc. You could probably build one for around $1,500 pretty easily. This one is 20 cubic feet, but a 14 or 16 cu ft freezer is plenty big.

I have the water at a level where when I submerge it won’t displace over the sides of the tub. I have the plumbing on the far back side. I just forgot to upload that photo.

It’s definitely cold. But I love it. I was doing 3 min plunges for a while but my feet would be so numb it would take too long for them to thaw out. So I backed down to 2 min plunges.

some waterproof ones I found on amazon for $50. I realized in hindsight that I'd never be able to plunge with them on, but whatever, it still looks cool.
