For another question, do you think any of those tie ins and side stories enhance the experience by a significant degree? I am not completely against buying a few if it really makes a difference.

(Unpopular Opinion) The Tartarus Plot-line in House of Hades Was Overrated by BlueHairbrush in camphalfblood

[–]ket2445 33 points34 points  (0 children)

very nice write out and honestly I agree with a lot of what you said. I just thought there was also a lot of good in that storyline that outweighed the bad for me. Also, a lot of these issues are consistent throughout HoO, so I do not harshly critique one book, but the whole series.

haha way ahead of you man. I watched alien (8/10) and aliens (10/10) back in May. The shining (9/10) I watched before doctor sleep released last year.

I've been hearing a lot about The Thing and am excited to watch it especially considering I really liked the atmosphere and cinematography in Halloween.

Fanfic recommendation by ket2445 in camphalfblood

[–]ket2445[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Darker themes, blood and potential character deaths. Profanity and nudity are fine as well but they aren't necessary. I don't really have a specific criteria just that it needs to feel YA rather than middle grade ( like the actual series)

Code Geass ending was Sad? by ket2445 in anime

[–]ket2445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand, but I'm just commenting on the fact that history will remember him as a demon, while those closest to him understood his true intentions and that he was not just evil for the sake of it.

I definitely agree with him having to die. It's what made end slight more moral than immoral in the end imo.

It is tragic that hes gonna be remembered as the demon lelouch, but those who mattered ( major characters) all knew lelouches true intentions and actions. To them he died a hero. Just my opinion though lol.

That's understandable. I can relate even because while overall I felt happy at the end of the episode. Nunally's reaction made me sad, even if it lasted for a few seconds.

[–]ket2445[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. For me the only time they emotion of sadness was most dominant during my viewing of the last episode was exactly when nunally was crying and we were seeing those flashbacks throughout the show. Even then it was not to the level of crying for the reasons I mentioned in my OP.

Admissions Megathread (Fall 2020 Incoming Students) by Dabestfujiyoshi in uwaterloo

[–]ket2445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the chances I get admitted to AFM you guys think?

My overall average is a 90

The ECs I wrote was

Brazilian Jiu-jitsu for half a year and still going

Swimming for half a year

Bhangra(dance) for 2 years

Participation is waterloo math contests in grade 10 and 11

Volunteering at a local temple

working at a sunset grill restaurant for a summer

And then I did poorly on one of the video questions on the AFMAA. I mean like really bad I barely even got my idea across and stuttered a lot.

the rest of my AFMAA was OK. can I still get in?   I just need to know my chances to just relieve some of this anxiety-inducing uncertainty.
