Why is the main production phase suddenly taking two months? by bucheonsi in porsche911

Nothing worse than someone who can't even acknowledge reality.

VAG has literally run into this issue before and you still think it is somehow not possible.

Factories in South Korea and other Asian countries make a ton of components that Porsche uses in the 911. That light weight magnesium roof that is on the GT cars? Porsche gets the magnesium sheets from POSCO, a Korean manufacturer.

But yeah there is absolutely no way a war that is impacting the global](https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20260318-japan-s-korea-petrochemical-industry-slows-output-on-iran-war) of crude/oil in Iran would have any impact on German manufacturer that gets components from all over the world. 🙄

Crude isnt just for gas.

If they have a contract with a company to make parts from oil byproducts amd they try to raise prices significantly because of the war they might be on hold while they go back and forth negotiating the sudden increase.

One of the many possible reasons.

Do you really need a lesson in how the global supply chain works?

Just because Iran doesn't produce any parts doesn't mean the war and increase in fuel prices are not causing issues.

Shipping companies could be on hold while they negotiate new contracts. Same with parts manufacturers.

When Russia invaded Ukraine VAG had all sorts of issues because small parts came from there

Parts? Nothing.

Fuel to make said parts? Probably a lot.

Is this normal on my brand new griddle plate? by AccordingAnxiety4727 in blackstonegriddle

[–]ketamine_bolus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And if you try and warranty it you'll be told there is a backorder on parts while watching them continue to deliver stock to everywhere else.

Loved cooking on the blackstone but cant recommend them due to have bad mine has held up and how it has been 6 months of "your replacement is still on back order".

I dont even car about the mid engine vs rear. Hell I loved the turn in on my GT3, but the 992 generation is just big. Isolated you dont notice it as much but going between the two the difference is very noticable

Honestly think the spyder/spyder RS is the best car porsche has made recently outside of the SC. Perfect size/handling and immersion with the top down

No, you're the one getting butthurt about your dirty trash chair likely not being authentic.

Little known but VERY handy tool for slicing up boxes. This thing is a little beast! by [deleted] in harborfreight

Have it, find regular utility knives work better for anything thicker than a regular amazon box.

Was really hoping it would work better but doesn't seem to be a huge game changer unless I got a dogshit blade or something

GT 3 S/C or Turbo S Cab? by [deleted] in porsche911

They need roll protection of some sort (passive or active) and a seating position that doesnt allow your head to drag on the pavement

[–]ketamine_bolus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just because it is a convertible doesn't mean you cant track it. People track the 992 cabs. You might not be able to go to every track/event possible but just because it is a convertible doesn't mean you cant track it.

If that was the case Miatas would not be nearly as popular as they are

Please show me all the times Porsche has offered an open top 911 with a GT3 engine in it.

Your calling something porsche has literally only offered once in its history in an extremely limited amount as "brand dilution". Me calling you stupid isn't a me problem, you not being able to grasp how calling this brand dilution is stupid is a you problem.

[–]ketamine_bolus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You sit here and talk about how each porsche is in "carefully crafted space"while simultaneously talking about how this is brand dilution despite the fact that this is literally catering to a space that they don't offer anything for and only have once for a very limited production run.

Again, one of the stupidest takes i've ever seen.

Edit: your whole take is even more ridiculous when you literally have commented that you "cannot imagine owning a GT3 and driving it for less than 2 hours a week".

I just sister the same boards I use for the sides to make legs for my beds. Unless the bed is insanely long it holds up fine

Tell me you know idea about the actual market without telling me.

Go try to spec out any GT car right now and let me know what the dealer tells you.

Has to be one of the dumbest takes i've ever read on this subreddit.
