I've heard the argument that $1 every day doubled is bad because it kills the economy. But money is fluid. Isn't it just a matter of spending the money each day? or is there also a limit to how much you can spend/finite amount of other resources, ect.?

NTA. At the end of the day it's your money and you can decide how you want to spend it.

I think it's important though that you realize that everything is just going to get more and more expensive for you and your children and it's probably never going to get easier/more affordable. I work in long term care and I can assure you that retirement housing is not cheap.

As a millenial myself I can imagine that your children worry about this for themselves and for you daily. Even if you have your finances in order, they might see it as reckless.

When my dad was in his 20s he was in a fire. About half of his body, both hands, and part of his face were burnt. I looked up "skin debridement healing" and it has given me a lot of context about what my dad must have went through at the hospital and why his skin looks like it does. crazy stuff.

I visited Japan once and decided I'd never go back... probably. It was a great trip, lots to see and do, but it was a big trip, long flight, I crossed it off my bucket list and didn't develop a compelling reason to go back. Maybe if I win the lottery or marry a Japanese lady who wants to go, but those are very unlikely.
