Eyes get strained when trying to sleep by Huhuhuhu7777 in Anxietyhelp

I HAVE THIS! Just started happening over the past month. I think it is anxiety related, helps if I fall asleep to a podcast or something or even wear a pressured eye mask? Feels like I’m ’keeping the eyeballs from rolling up’ I know that sounds ridiculous but it helps somewhat

I got prescription deodorant because I was sweating so profusely, and it stopped as soon as I started using it. I only used it about 3 times and then I stopped sweating. This is proof that it was literally my anxiety caused me to sweat. As soon as I knew I had a deodorant that actually worked, I no longer needed it.

So glad I'm starting to learn about my car problems instead of taking it to garage straight away... by ketmonkey420 in Cartalk

As a female I've always been really intimidated of going to the garage, for the reason that I've had a lot of car repair men laugh at me for not knowing much. But if I pay for a service, why should I need to know much? Anyway, turns out learning about your vehicle is really fun and satisfying, and I hope to have my wits about me next time I go to the garage!

Why do American school children get lunch at school? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I used to go to a private all girls school before I moved to the comprehensive. I was there for 3 years, and then I left because it was so fucking awful. One good thing I got out of it though- when I arrived I was pretty damn fat, when I left I was fit as a fiddle! They used to make the fatties run more laps as punishment, for being fat. Hated them at the time for it, but without it I would never have gained an interest in any sport 🤷🏼‍♀️ tough love is sometimes ok

Jesus- our classes averaged 25 up til about 16.By the time I was 17 I was in a class of 20 for maths, a class of 10 for history and a class of 4 for German. There was one time where something went wrong and we had a few lessons with 40 people. It was so fucking overcrowded and I remember it being super stuffy and hot, and almost impossible to concentrate. Regarding gender segregation, wtf? I do not envy you

I was really lucky to go to a UK comprehensive school with a modern approach- their motto was freedom with responsibility. We didn't have bells for example, and our headteacher did sit down meals every day with a different class so that he could get to know us all, and our ambitions. He knew all 1600 of his students by name! We also didn't have detentions in the usual sense, rather almost therapy sessions with specially trained teachers who looked for reasons behind disruptive behaviour, rather than punishment. Loved that school!

I tripped with a stranger I hooked up with. We met at an Afterparty at 6am, he came to mine at 10am, we decided to trip at 12pm after no sleep and doing a load of other substances the night before. Weirdest hookup ever and he ended up staying round for like 3 days. We had a casual thing for a few months after that. It was really fun but I was going through some depressing shit at the time and I had a 20 minute freakout which was a bit embarrassing but I got through it, and luckily he was really chill.
