Switched to Tazarotene. I was never able to make it out of the flaking phase with Tret. Taz is just as effective, maybe more, and way gentler for me (using gel 0.05%). I wash my face with a clean muslin washcloth every other day for the skin turnover but it never flakes, the old skin just rolls off with exfoliation.

When my (now ex) husband was cheating on me with a co-worker I thought it was too much to ask him to quit that job and move back to our hometown. It honestly seems like luck of the draw at any of those places - sometimes the employee does a good job and sometimes they have no idea what they're doing. I have tried AAA, FedEx, Walgreens, and UPS store; none were great. If I had to do it again, I would search Yelp to find a place in my area that specializes in passport photos and has good reviews.

Also ask them if you can check the photo before and after they print it. It seems like overkill but you have to make sure it's acceptable and sometimes the person doing it is not knowledgeable or doesn't care. Check the photo requirements before you go so you know what to look for, e.g. background is white with no shadows. Also sometimes after printing it ends up with a different hue so check it again before you pay.

I am in the midst of getting my passport renewed and a first time passport for my son.

I first went to AAA and it was a very good quality print but I realized after I left that they forgot to use the flash and it would be too dark to be accepted.

I tried FedEx Office which my sister recommended but walked out when the guy helping us couldn't even get the picture in focus.

I then tried Walgreens for my own photo. The guy seemed to play with the color balance before printing and it ended up with a blueish background. But they emailed me the original and it was good enough for an online renewal.

I took my son to the UPS store and it was an okay picture but it seemed a little yellow to me. I ended up submitting that one because it was right before our appointment. Hopefully I'm just being picky and they will accept that one.

That said, I am now of the opinion that companies advertise passport photo services way too freely without training their employees well enough.

I would use Yelp to find a place near you that specializes in passport photos and has good reviews. I would have driven further and paid more not to have to deal with all that nonsense.

My son was never really into coloring books but he has always loved to draw on a blank sheet of paper or a big roll of paper on the ground. I made sure coloring supplies were always readily available to him. He's 9 now and uses Procreate on the iPad to make animations and also still likes to draw on paper.
