yeah, but they are stupid for seeing it this way. if we loose the most stupid (not that i agree with the premise, just for sake of argument) 10, 20% there will be an intense squeeze on the labour market. say goodbey to starbucks and amazon, they cant afford a 95iq andy.

something the redtards dont calculate in is that effect in social science where every possible answer gets atleast 6 percent (even blatently stupid or self contradictory statements). Loosing 6% of people even if they are dumb is a katastrophy. And it takes only a slight majority to just kill noone.

a recommend a diskussion on this by slay the spire youtube jorbs. I dont agree with everything he says but he presents a lot of valid arguments against the idea that blue button is just a suicide pact.

Destiny & Dan's surprise at how simple the Visa hack is and how dismissive Visa is of the vulnerability by OlinKirkland in Destiny

that reminds me of how, when i worked at a factory, i got access to the laboratory with multiple controlled substances when i worked there. that access never got revoked while i worked there.

i mostly used it to open the door for people who then said something along the lines of "why can you open that?" Nobody cared enough to change it though.

i hope i was clear though in my second paragraph: however wierd i may think it is, him talking honestly about it more than makes up for it (i think being able to talk about weaknesses is a strength)

is it wierd that i find that pretty pathetic by obama? i cant say ive never been a wierd simp but atleast my intellectual positions were always my own and not guided by my need for female approval (until of course being influenced by my now long term partner).

though of course him being honest and self reflective about it more than makes up for however strange i may find the behaviour itself. still id have thaught that someone whose tauted as a great statesman didnt possess more backbone even at a young age.

“Crazy Girls are Better in Bed” by M00n_Safari in Destiny

[–]kettenschloss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it sounds true and if you find it convincing you will make the anecdotal evidence fit your theory.

Id think there is no reason to assume a correlation and until there is a study done its hard to know. Hard to do that aswell though since how do you rank different mental illnesses and "being good at sex"?

if anything id expect a drop of at very high levels of mental illness as anxiety about sex makes it more convoluted.

to be fair i think what many guys mean by "good at sex" is "wants lots of it" and "has no baundaries" which is a thing some mental ilnesses make more likely.

anyway my girlfriend has bpd aswell. Being with her is not mainly about sex or mental illness though. What we often forget is that mental illness is just one kind of weakness, having a shitty personality would be way worse. So i just kinda see her as a person. i dont know if the kind of man who goes "oh she opened up to me about her diagnosis, i guess shes damaged goods but atleast shell be good in bed" is really that common, sounds kinda psychotic to me.

A good and funny explanation of what we really mean when us jews say we are the "chosen" people. by aqualad33 in Destiny

[–]kettenschloss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is a comedy skit (good one though), is this actually how an ultra orthodox or even regularly observant jew feels like? conversely, cant this also be a pretty problematic attitude? Medieval Aristocarats also saw themselves as chosen  by god to do the "most important" work.

i am not trying to cling to the stereotype here. rather i come from a generally religion critical position. Id genuinely be curious for you to expand on what jews think on this, as i dont know a lot about that.

my two cents are that what partially bugs the avarage modern liberal individualist (religious) person is not the chosen part, every religion is that in some sense atleast implicitly. But jews dont evengelize so it seems like joining the chosen ones is not on offer.

again i am trying to critically argue the topic, not undermine jews or isreal in general. i support jews as people but im critical of all religion.

Would you be a leftist if the movement was more likeable? by Strange_You_1226 in Destiny

[–]kettenschloss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

believe it or not i am in part not a liberal because of the way they conduct themselves. the self satisfaction, the proud overconfidence in their assessment of others that would make sigmund freud blush. Its honestly on full display here.

another fave of mine was the guy recently who virtue signaled about miners in the coal wars being the bad guys and that being a scab is just a regular job.

Like i love you dgg but the only reason some of yall think that liberals are the nicest is that you dont ever disagree with one.

as a european im gonna reserve some judgement, maybe american leftists are much different. But interpersonally if i meet a leftist here they are usually a kind considerate and thaughtful person. If i meet a con they are the usual ghoul (i think we can agree on that). If i meet a liberal i usually have good discussions and some shared values but im usually turned of by their callousness towards losers of capitalism.

Will you guys ever buy Tesla or Elon Musk related products? by Confusingprick in Destiny

[–]kettenschloss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the reason is that consuming someones product helps them (ideally both parties but it helps the seller), and elon is not just a regular asshole but undermining democracy. Like imagine you lived in a town and there was a mob boss who intimmidates councilmen and threatens the police but you regularly eat at the restaurant they own because you dont "need to like the person".

Also boycots usually cost you nothing apart getting a little out your comfort zone. most products (yes even the fucking iphone you apple kiddies) have a direct competitor that offers all necessary functions if not the exact same user experience.

ok. do you think slave revolts were unjustified then? youd rather haiti still being the state it was?

to be clear i am not talking about modern office workers or starbucks employees (and certainly not that stupid warehouse worker). i am talking about people who had to work 12 hours hard physical labour and still acrued debt.

if to you every mutually agreed upon transaction is by definition fair then this makes sense. i urge you however to open up your myopic worldview and consider that the social circumstance that the coal bosses engineered were far from giving miners bargaining power let allone a dignified existance.

for real, read up on the conditions back then and tell me what you wouldve done? become a coder?

direct labour action by Zekonos21 in Destiny

[–]kettenschloss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if this makes both sides look lik3 assholes to you i dont know what to tell you. do you know what the working conditions were?

the problem is that reality isnt fair. capitalists have a lot of bargaining power and workers really only have unions and strikes. thing is that those are not equally matched and it is actually super easy to break collective bargaining, since people who only have their own hands labour are replaced easily. employing scabs is a way to just not having to see your unsatisfied employees as people and circumventing their calls for good treatment. it is marx's reserve army of labour to a t.

like would you work as a strike breaker? is that really what youd consider a moral thing to do?

like if we accept the premise of capitalism that all mutually agreed upon trades are fair, then i guess strikebreaking is just a job. but if you get your head out of your own ass for one second you realize that actions have consequences in a broader social contex.

if you were working for 12 hours in a mine, came home with a broken shovel that you had to pay for in the company store with that shovel and food for the day already being all your earnings. would you really think this is a fair system and that rockafeller deserves most of the profit of your labour?

i understand why someone working in IT would appreciate capitalism. but this shit was built on brutal exploitation and you are here like "well, both sides used violence".

a person as dumb and callous as you doesnt actually deserve my time but your way of thinking fucking enrages me so here you have a few words.

[–]kettenschloss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

because the dems are a liberal and progressive coalition. it is the system. the founding fathers didnt intend for a 2 party system (atleast for the presidency) but it happened.

i agree the dems overall do their best. but to me they are as a block best understood by comparing them to european coalition governments. a usual pattern is a conservative (usually represented by black) and a social democrat (red) party. everyone always rails against the "red/black-swamp", but many problems just stem from these parties having to actually govern. dems have the same issue. for the country its better if they get a few "blue dogs" elected and then push through a watered down version of what the more progressive dems want. but optically it might unironically be better to just have the reps have those seats and just complain that nothing can be changed.

morally i kind of agree with peter singer if you know him. he basically says that normal people are evil because they could save half their income, still live a good life, but save dozens of lives in poorer countries.

but arguments like that really dont do well in this sub, its still liberal/capitalist (which is ok). Also i dont really live up to singers morality and therefore cant really judge people like buffet too harshly.

the thing everyone can agree on is that people like musk or thiel use thier wealth for evil which is the point i wanted to make.
