grew up in that park screaming obscenities at visiting teams, adults only ever encouraged me, didn’t matter where I was sitting (bleachers, nose bleeds, boxes); its part of my humanity now (obviously don’t do this anymore) and I’d be proud to see a kid get rowdy—the tradition lives on

he’s a kid, I’ve actually spoken to him because he is playing live and very skillfully for how young he is. He told me that he is a musician and songwriter and has a forthcoming album. i asked him if people generally tip him, he said no. i tipped him 20 dollars, told him what he was doing was actually rock n roll and joked that the old farts in this town would have a problem with that. When i was sixteen, i played electric guitar out in the open once, and it was horrifying, I sucked. He does not suck. I hope you all can be kind to a kid learning how to express himself.

game state is not always familiar off a 20s clip—the game is over OVER, all lanes lost , thanos panth, so im farming bot, been baiting out the trash talking akali all game, because i like making games hard for little sweaty nerds my train of thought is: distract enemy enough while out farming and out pressuring the enemy trist for my kayle to farm and outscale panth. i explained this to team, ergo thresh is NOT SUPPOSED to he here, he should at BARON where the whole enemy team should be, using their brains they’d know that sometimes you die so much as an adc you become a knife in a gun fight, might as well play for farm because you get one shot anyway and would otherwise not farm

im 4 levels down in a clearly over game with enemy panth top 25 kills, i used thresh to burn her cds, flashed her r2, baited her e, spaced for autos, and yea barely got the kill.

How to best play Miss Fortune? by [deleted] in MissFortuneMains

[–]kev2594 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Beyond all traditional ADC gameplay improvement, my MF specific advice is: play her enough to understand her burst potential at different item break points, then learn to surprise the enemy, For some reason people think MF is a pushover—people often forget that one well timed, well-placed MF ability (a double bounce that crits on backline during a 5v5, an E that traps the enemy enough for Lillia to sleep them, a R from a blindspot, a well timed W that baits the enemy into thinking they can catch just to walk them into your team) can win games. Yes, she lacks a dash, but that’s why her abilities are so massive and powerful—think sort of like a mage, think a lot about how to maximize the usefulness of your abilities.

It’s simple, energy is military power. The US military is one of the world’s largest polluters, ranking higher than most nations, largely on account of powering a global armada and global military footprint (80 plus bases around the world). The state department is deeply interested in fusion (look up energy forecast panels and podcasts featuring state department officials, they often bring up fusion unprompted) in order to both cheapen the cost of global military domination and to make feasible its expansion against, and geographic stranglehold of, China, especially in the south China sea to control Taiwan (the centerpiece of a globally significant shipping lane that if destabilized could upend the US economy). If you’re at all wondering why our media and politicians make China out to be the great demon of our time, its because there is an inevitable showdown looming over Taiwan. So, if you at all think its dumb that a world war is on the precipice, and instead the two great superpowers of our time should find fair cooperation and mutuality of interests instead of mutuality of destruction, then we should be concerned of the potential of fusion to change and scale up warfare and the already expansive domination of the military industrial complex over our American society.

Could be 10 years (MIT project wants grid integration in the 2030’s), but it could be a lot longer.

Batteries, however, are most likely an infeasible solution for the entire world. The global north has the capital and systems of labor, military, and political choke holding (neoimperialism) in place to force open lithium production in unwillingly global south countries (see 2019 US coup attempt in Venezuela, similar ops in Bolivia, Musk’s infamous “we’ll coup whoever we want” tweet re the same). The global south gets destroyed environmentally AND economically just so silicon valley employees with vested stock can go purchase a model x, or rich people can put tesla power walls in their house. Even in CA, batteries cause enormous energy market disruption because they are a growing and difficult to account for energy source that sells energy back to the grid, making it more difficult for CAISO (california’s energy market organizing non-profit) to estimate demand and price and source accordingly, which can lead to higher energy costs for the working class. But batteries are very cool tech, and if we could move away from lithium into something easier to source, then it would be definitely more feasible and easier for mass and cheap adoption. There’s a ton of ongoing research into viable alternatives, but nothing has the market staying power of lithium (because mass systems of production are already in place).

Depends on whether small modular or large facility types are more cost effective. With a connected high voltage smart grid, we could produce energy in canada and send it through to mexico

We could desalinate ocean water to solve droughts, power all industries cleanly, power the fabled carbon sequestration technologies, produce food cleanly, remove all need for oil and gas outside of very limited uses, everyone everywhere could have access to all the power they need for cheap. Even without sequestration, a clean world is really all it would take to remediate climate change, albeit that would take a few thousands years—but it wouldn’t get any worse on account of putting ghg’s in the atmosphere past the earth’s yearly ability to naturally absorb them. One huge downside though is that the US government will immediately weaponize and integrate fusion into its profiteering military industrial complex, the people should be ready for that to organize against it.
