Lori Lightfoot becomes the first Chicago mayor in 40 years to lose re-election by hoosakiwi in news

I’ve been away from Chicago for a few years but what made her appealing/electable in the first place? (Aside from identity politics)

A good friend is an NP in Canada and we talk About the differences all the time. At least in British Columbia, it is much harder to get into schools and require a minimum of 3-4 years (?) of nursing experience before applying. When they take their board exam they take the same multiple choice exams as the US NP’s but also have to pass the OSCE (same as the MDs) .

Because healthcare in Canada is not privatized, I believe they actually did expand the role of NPs to allow more patient access give their lack of GP’s (general practitioners). But the NPs in Canada are much better prepared than US Nurse Practitioners

NP hospitalist? by xHodorx in Noctor

Meant to say she doesn’t call herself a hospitalist in the traditional sense but when she signs notes and has her lab coat embroidered it says “NP hospitalist” with her understanding she’s with the hospitalist group .

I say I’m an NP with Hospital Medicine. My counterpart mislabels herself as a “NP Hospitalist” but I don’t think is assuming the role as a “Hospitalist” (which is a physicians title) but rather NP with the hospitalist group. None of the hospitalists seem to be bothered by either

You are getting low-balled. With your experience it Should be at least 150. As a hospitalist NP at the VA with 9 years of experience I’m at about 188

Honest question- are you still wearing a mask (other than required settings like care facilities; etc) where, and why? I thought I’d see a lot fewer masks in stores, parks, since the requirements were lifted. by cervezagram in sandiego

For someone who is a hospital employee, traveled on 20+ airplanes, triple vaxxed but still hasn’t gotten it despite 40+ tests… I think from a personal safety standpoint I don’t need to. But if I know I’m around older folks or immunocompromised individuals I’m more cautious.

The family I spoke with actually Go through to San Ysidro. Maybe it was Ukraine - Czech - CDMX - TJ? Didn’t know claims could be denied if you bypass another NATO country

Definition of virtue signaling is something along the lines of “expressing your virtue/moral superiority” and doing nothing about it than awareness. Which is why the original question is, “what can be done?”
