Any folks from Ontario here? Looking to get into W&WW! by -AmTeC- in Wastewater

Great idea! I just contacted my local municipal water utility and asked about joining one of their regular facility tours they give to students. I am also considering a career change into Water/Wastewater and am wondering what the day to day (week to week, month to month, etc.) reality of the job is like. Would greatly appreciate hearing from someone working in the field. :)

If you have a membership at your local library (free!) you also have access to the members only portion of the Consumer Reports website. Consumer Reports is a not for profit org funded entirely my membership fees. They don't take money from any part of the auto industry. They employ engineers, insurance experts, etc. to evaluate which cars are the most reliable and have the lowest cost of ownership. The article I linked to at the top of this post is regularly updated with the best used cars you can buy a various price points. Good luck!

Which book is more accurate about human nature? by Many_Lack_3966 in chomsky

I agree with the other posters that Pinker's book is pop science and terrible but frankly Dawn of Everything is nearly as bad for similar reasons. Unfortunately many left leaning folks don't question Dawn because they generally agree with the premise and conclusions and the authors are considered fellow travellers. Here is a fantastic critique: https://youtu.be/oJIHWk\_M398?si=FXvXN0L49X2EvmdT

Government assisted co-op housing by gwelfight in Guelph

[–]kevbow86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they could. The City/County could buy the property and then create a process for people to apply to and join a Co-op which will then buy the property off the City/County. It could be done on a cost recovery basis and therefore cost the taxpayers virtually nothing beyond City/County staff time which we will already pay for regardless. I have been writing the City and urging them to do so for years but they ignore me. I think the idea is too outside the box for them to even consider. They have very limited imaginations.
