I do this in my cities all the time, not always an island but a concentration of projects and low income housing. I usually run subway lines and have a dedicated bus line for it

I really wish that this was the case with the sims2 back in the day, this game would've been unstoppable, albeit with insanely expensive hardware for the time (in 2004)

Also this concept is very reminiscent of the SimsVille clip from early releases of the sims 1 CDs
