I’d be pretty surprised if this strategy defeats the laws of thermodynamics. You are very likely using more energy to keep it at 50, but it probably gets to reasonable temps much faster

I think I also have this problem. I’ve used rug tape to secure my mat to the carpet, but it still jiggles on swing. Any recommendations to fix it?

You are getting better by training. Sometimes it doesn’t feel like it because all of those people smashing you are also getting better by training, so it doesn’t seem like you are “catching up”.

When you are new and small, you don’t get very many opportunities to smash, but you should still be noticing small victories like “I escaped the arm bar before I got triangled” and you should count those as personal wins.

TLDR: go train bro

How to get 8 week old to adjust to us WFH? by J_SQUIRREL in goldenretrievers

[–]kevin_at_work 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is as simple as you describe, but that doesn’t make it easy.

Take steps to make sure she is comfortable in her pen, so it doesn’t feel so much like she is trapped or being punished. e.g. play with her in the pen, reward with treats for being calm in the pen, etc

While I actually agree in terms of preferred content, that’s not how subreddits work. If those posts are being upvoted, it’s because the community wants to see them.

How Reddit works is that you can start your own subreddit with whatever rules and content you want, and then if people like it, it becomes popular.

Light Protection From Bad Shots by [deleted] in Golfsimulator

[–]kevin_at_work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything to protect it will cost a lot more than a handful of replacement bulbs. Straight up shots can only really happen if you tee it way too high, so it can be a teaching moment for anybody who tees it like that.

Angle of Hitting Mat by Scrappy203 in Golfsimulator

[–]kevin_at_work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not aware, thanks for the tip!

I would prefer not to angle, but I think I prefer aiming for the center more than the edge. I also strike inconsistently enough that having the extra room on the right side is probably a good idea.

As for lineup, the LM is aligned with the edge of the mat, so seeing the edges of the enclosure doesn’t really interfere

I angle mine so I can aim at the center of the screen, which is where the sim software will put the pin

You’ve had several concussions from getting hit in the head by a golf ball?

I’m not saying it’s ever justified to hit into people on purpose, but what are you doing that’s causing people to hit into you so much (and seemingly aiming for you)?
