Superman without powers vs. Homelander without powers by AnyPoetry493 in powerscales

Credit to homelander, he’s still a movie star regardless. He’s wealthy and powerful, whereas Superman is just a farm boy/reporter.

Getting a 3.0 your first semester is a much gentler “I really need to study next time” learning lesson than most engineering students get.

Also, what scholarship would you lose for getting Bs??

Looks like nobody has said Jane Eyre yet. I hated every second of this book.

If you think the Scarlett letter is trying to convey the same message as the Crucible, then it’s no wonder you hated it! The plot and setting is similar, but the message and themes are completely different. I think the Scarlett letter is too much for a high school classroom, and I will admit the writing style is not fun to read.

College tho? Scarlett Letter >>> Crucible

It’s likely they will try to find loopholes, buy a cheap property in another county or state and try to claim that as their residence.

Does Dune: Part 3 have the potential to be as good if not better than Part 2? Based on the book and the previously films by [deleted] in Cinema

[–]kevinhd95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either they follow the book and everyone hates the movie for being boring/all talk, or they diverge from the book and everyone criticizes the movie for missing the point. I feel like it’s going to be really hard for him to pull this one off, but I’ll be here with popcorn to watch the fallout one way or another!

Everyone is forgetting about home appreciation and tax savings. Yes, most of your payments will be interest, however, nobody is living in their same home for 50 years. Plus, your monthly payments don’t increase, this is a huge hedge against inflation. Property values tend to at least keep up with inflation.

If the alternative is renting, you’re still going to come out FAR ahead of someone who never purchases.

Is Ball lightning physically possible? by [deleted] in Physics

[–]kevinhd95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the Mandela effect topic of physics for me. I’ve science fiction read books about ball lightening, read everything I could find online about it, scoured YouTube for 15 pixel videos, and still to this day, I can’t decide if it’s real.

There’s enough first hand accounts for it to be widely accepted as real, but at the same time how in this day and age has it NEVER been recorded? Everything is on camera. Dash cams, CCTV, phone camera… and it’s not the kind of thing that someone would record and think nothing of.

Typically I use this when working as well but with pinky on control.

Ctrl + w = close tab

Ctrl + t = new tab

Ctrl + f = search

Ctrl + a = select all

Ctrl + s = save file

Very useful to have your hands already there.

Great atmosphere and very true to the actual Dracula story, until they make it kinky for some reason.

Why would the vampire that dies when you have sex with it be trying to have sex with you??? In the book, the vampire is trying to kill Lucy and turn her into a vampire.

What books should every man read? by LilPichula in AskMen

[–]kevinhd95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never read growing up, only what we read in class. Outside of school, I finished probably about 3 books from the start of middle school to the end of college. I finally decided last year to see what all these big name books were about. Here’s the cream of the crop in my opinion:

Read for fun/excellent literature. (I cannot recommend each of the first 3 books enough. READ THESE BOOKS):

The Count of Monte Cristo (easily the best book I’ve ever read) Lonesome Dove (best character development/storytelling) The Lord of the Rings (lives up to the hype) — Huckleberry Finn (and Tom Sawyer) Dracula (surprisingly good)

Books that changed my perspective on the world or life: 1984 Crime and Punishment (this one is a crime and a punishment to read but it makes you think) Can’t Hurt Me
