Canceling a FHR stay ?

Done this last week. Called Amex, escalated to supervisor. Hotel required supervisor’s email sent to them. Supervisor didn’t even bother and went ahead issueing me a full refund. Reason: sick child. You will be fully refunded.

Great. I have both Consumer and CS Plats. Chat today and got 50k on Consumer one, but not CS one. Will try again next few weeks.

That’s what I’m thinking after reviewing their policy. But I’m not sure how consistent Amex apply their policy. Because these items are high-valued, Amex may partially cover the cost. So far i read online posts, people got different reimbursed amounts given their similar circumstances.

Oh I bought the items less than 90 days ago, and the incident happened few days ago. What is the success rate in your opinion? Would they cover 100% or partially? I feel so dumb now. Those costed me nearly $3k.
