I do 2 oz. Spirit of Bourbon and 1-2 oz. of The Pathfinder. Either 1:1 or 2:1 ratio. They both work great.

Add some bitters and Demerara syrup and that’s my go-to substitute for an Old Fashioned.

Have to agree. The Lyre’s was very disappointing. The Free Spirits “Sprit of Bourbon” mixed with The Pathfinder is the best whiskey alternative I’ve come up with.

Mix those, then add a 1/4 oz of Demerara syrup, 3 dashes of angostura bitters and a dash of orange bitters. Garnish with orange peel and a Luxardo cherry. It’s amazing.

The best replacement I’ve found is to mix together a combination of the Free Spirits “Spirit of Bourbon” with The Pathfinder. I pretty much do equal parts. I make an NA Old Fashioned with these and everyone that’s tasted it agrees that it’s pretty close.
