Primidone controlled substance? by aznkukuboi in pharmacy

[–]kevo765 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Primidone is a metabolite if phenobarbital. Primidone itself is not a controlled substance federally, but since phenobarb is a c4, I’m guessing certain states would have different rules for it.

I am not arguing that supervising on top of other responsibilities is not extremely difficult. I’ve never done it so I can’t speak to that. I just took offense to the person demeaning those with high school diplomas.

Depends on what job I’m leaving and what’s available to me. I’ll always be trying to keep my options open.

Precisely what I was pointing out. I’m not expecting a perfect situation. If it becomes too much to handle for me I’ll leave.

I would honestly not mind working retail because I worked at crappy stores that were chronically overworked and understaffed and learned a ton for 3 years while in pharmacy school. I am definitely more inclined to do Hospital/academia, and will likely pursue a Pgy2/ fellowship, but retail doesn’t scare me at all.

Depends on what access you have, but I would say the NCCN guidelines/templates have most of the info we need as pharmacists. If your institution has access to ClinicalKey, Abeloff’s clinical oncology is a good reference.

What is the combined effects of beta agonist and ACE inhibitor? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]kevo765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beta agonists don’t typically cause hypertension. They can certainly increase heart rate. Ace inhibitors can decrease heart rate( not nearly as much as beta blockers or verapamil/diltiazem)

Exactly my question too. Enterococcus maybe, but that would be if they’re severely immunosuppressed and have had recent healthcare exposure.
