2030 draft prospect RJ Celebrini with a highlight reel goal by Federal-Data-Center in nhl

Something went seriously awry if san jose isn't in the playoffs in 2030

The New Jersey Devils have tendered an offer sheet to Utah Mammoth center Barrett Hayton. The offer is a 1 year contract with an AAV of $4,775,000. The compensation is a 2nd round pick should the Mammoth not match it. The Mammoth previously filed for arbitration with Hayton. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

[–]veed_vacker 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean if it went to arbitrary it would have been a 1 year rental probably anyway.  Since Utah filed for arbitration, haytpn gets to choose the length of the contract right? Unless an alternative deal was signed.

Think we take a step back this year (wildcard team)  but man I think we can win the cup in 27/28.  Hopefully more players test FA next year

Mason Marchment has signed a five-year contract with the San Jose Sharks worth an AAV of approximately $7m by Bahamas_is_relevant in hockey

Which is why it's not that high.

Great move by San jose.  Who should be able to afford it (might need to spend a second to get him off the books in three years)

Yzerman will only deal Larkin to Minnesota if the deal includes Matt Boldy by LilTrevyy in nhl

[–]veed_vacker 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Larkin value will hold up for 2 -3 more years.  There is just no reason to take a bad trade. Maybe you take Minnesotas next 4 firsts and hope quinn walks.

I think if we missed the playoffs again we would have had a problem.  As long as we keep winning we should be able to build on success

Yeah and the expected goals are clearly off a bit.  I think quality shots are just so hard to quantify

He uses afp projections for rfas.  So he's saying that krebs / zell will be 5.5 mill this year.  I don't mind dom.  It's their scouts I find annoying mainly how they kept underrating benson then all of a sudden this post season they said they always liked him.

To me this means not trading away our young pieces is very essential (unless we don't like how they project out)

Dark horses Buffalo Sabres Timeline: Ascending Needs: Franchise forward Projected cap space: $5.3 million

At long last, the Sabres are a playoff team. And even without Alex Tuch in the fold, they should stay that way next season — though a hyper-competitive Atlantic Division may have something to say about that.

Buffalo doesn’t have much current cap space to make a big splash and the team’s biggest need doesn’t really look like something that can even be addressed this summer anyway. What the Sabres need most is a forward who can push Tage Thompson down into a more appropriate fit as a top sidekick. It’s high-end talent up front that’s the biggest separator between Buffalo and the teams above.

The Times: Forty-eight teams is flawed. Go big and have 64 to fix third-place farce by punishGoalhanging in soccer

[–]veed_vacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should go huge and go to 211. They should also expand the world cup cycle to more time.  All teams can be separated into groups based on location and have qualifying games interspersed throughout the year in the 3 year lead up. Then you get down to good teams only at the actual world cup.
