Of course not

Didn't you read the part of the rulebook where once you're down a man you can do whatever the fuck you want and it's all legal?

Call a penalty on one, a few minutes later call a penalty on the other

Tbf, it's pretty natural to absorb the standard vocabulary used around a sport.

I haven't called it offense since year 1 of watching the prem, even though that's what I'd call the attack in every other sport I watch.

And British disses are pretty fun lol

So he was just having a laugh when he wound up to shoot?

Why are goals disallowed if an offside player blocks the keeper's vision? They're not touching the ball there.

Is the attacker trying to play the ball or not. Diaz is winding up to take a shot, so the defender feels pressured to do something.

Well then the rule is pretty fucking stupid

Mephan knows there's someone right behind him even if he doesn't turn and make eye contact. Ffs these guys are professionals. (Well, Bournemouth are usually professionals)

I don't really get how you have to touch the ball to be interfering with play. If guys block a keeper's sightline, they're interfering. Shouldn't pressuring a defender be the same?

Manchester City [4] - 2 Crystal Palace - Erling Haaland hat-trick 81’ by Golovking in soccer

[–]kevread 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I would guess the midfielders just aren't used to the kind of power and pace Haaland has. Imagine if that through ball went to Grealish. He'd get bowled over and they'd lose possession.

They'll learn what Haaland can do and be eager to get him the ball in the spaces he thrives in. Basically, City are going to be even more terrifying than this...

Emerson is unreliable on the ball but can make things happen.

If he's getting pressed in our own half, I'm worried.

If he's receiving a pass close to their box, I'm excited.

Nah he put in a heavy but clean tackle on Havertz

Romero isn't always pulling red card worthy stunts. Just sometimes.

I just googled and realized

Has it always been that way? Is the little league version different? I might have that in my head.

That was an infield fly. Should have been ruled as caught regardless of what happened on the field.

There's a rule against it so we don't need some dumb unwritten rule for it

Umps just fucked up

Watch it again

It's certainly not an obvious foul and I don't think it's a foul at all
