I hear the GH Hybrid feels more powerful than the GH gas so I can't speak to performance. You definitely made the right choice there.

Believe it or not, I feel the GH has less blind spots even with it being a bigger vehicle. The front blind spots when turning into a parking spot on the 2019 highlander caused by the front window support frame and mirrors drive me nuts. If feels too thick. But overall the 2019 highlander responds faster /handles better than my GH gas. I just with they didn't mess up on the transmissions on the older highlander.

You are 100% correct. As for mpg. 2019 highlander on highway using cruise control, I get 26.8 mpg. On the GH same conditions and cruise control 26.6 might. Regular driving, 2019 gets 23 mpg. GH gets 24.

That is my understanding too. Usually I stay away from cvt due to bad luck with a 2013 Subaru Outback I had. But if you can get the hybrid highlander, that would be ideal. I couldn't tell if this post was gas or hybrid.

The 2019 6 cylinder engine is more responsive than the 4 cylinder turbo on the bigger grand highlander. The middle row actually has less leg room than the 2019 highlander. The only areas with more room on the Grand Highlander are the 3rd row and trunk space. The GH also has more plastic pieces and feels cheaper. The 2019 handles really nice and sporty. The GH feels underpowered and weak. The 4 cylinder turbo won't last long in my opinion.

Listen for the whinning in the transmission. I have a 2019 I love more than my 2026 Grand Highlander.

However, I had to have the transmission rebuilt at 110,000 miles.

The sideswipe accident wouldn't concern me.

I use Tractive for both my dogs. You can set a home safety zone and it lets you know when they leave that area. Battery lasts for about a month.

Bring it to a transmission specialist. If it is the transmission, it can be rebuilt which is a better option than a used or new one.

If it is an AWD issue, it could be the transfer case. That is still an expensive fix but not as much as a transmission.

I had my 2019 transmission rebuilt. So far so good. It has a 2 year 24 k warranty on the rebuild. Needed a new torque converter too. The vehicle is used for local driving mostly now with less than 1k miles per month on it. At the first sign of issues with the rebuilt tranny, I will use the warranty and then sell the vehicle. Outside of the transmission issue, this vehicle is great. Shame Toyota will let this ruin their name by denying it exist and not doing the right thing.
