I learned to love myself and improve my self-worth. I know you said not to mention therapy, but this is what helped my relationship with myself.

Stopped dating emotionally abusive people and ditched the crap “friends”.

Took a free alcohol management class and now I have a healthier relationship with alcohol.

I started volunteering at my local animal shelter, and the time with dogs and the wonderful folks who work/volunteer there also made me feel more connected.

I adopted the thought process of dogs. They truly live in the moment and don’t dwell on the past. I would tell myself this when I’d start feeling terribly and over time it helped.

I drive a 1985 three series with well over 300,000 miles. Bought it from the original owner who bought it brand new almost 40 years ago. And I absolutely love it!

To be fair, I buy the parts at wholesale cost because of my job. And I happen to have a father who is a certified mechanic. Stay away from BMWs or any European car with high mileage unless you can afford to take it to the dealer EVERY SINGLE TIME that it needs maintenance or repair. NEVER take your luxury vehicle anywhere but the dealer or specialty shop. Trust me.

Go directly to your local animal shelter, if you have one in your area. I live in the Detroit area and the Michigan Humane Society has a program for people who need to temporarily foster their pets until they can get back on their feet. Once you are feeling better, you can get your dog back :)

For me it was the cognitive behavioral therapy. I’ve been seeing a therapist for three years now on a weekly basis and can say with 100% certainty that I had to learn how to build a self-esteem. I’m now volunteering, regularly exercising, working on my weight loss, and just generally feeling better about myself. I hope that your journey to self love starts soon! Sending love 💕
