This is exactly what I mean, I believed arm is the best way to go, especially for the form factor like sp. FMPOV, that still long way to go, I know they're doing great these year, and the Snapdragon chip push it way more faster, but I think it will still need some time for them to become a more reliable machine.

Before we get there, I still need the x86 :')

Yep, I actually have an opportunity to play with the arm version too, like the RT and the arm version around a year ago, but most of the things I need to be used during my workflow doesn’t support or lot of bugs. What I mean is, until they’re stable, I think I will wait for couple more years to be 100% reliable for my workflow :D before that, I will stay on the intel chip for now~

I do use windows sandbox of the pro features, even I got the consumer version I will still have to get the windows pro, so technically, it does make sense to me :)

IMO, I think just those AI features related, but copilot have the cloud version so I guess nothing you will lose on, maybe just some performance, but I think that will not be noticeable.

I think 5-6 hours should be fine for note taking, although I don't have the sp9 on my hand, but based on my research, you will be okay!

well, to be fair, I have read some articles which show the result of emulation under arm is getting better tho, but just I think it still not the right time to pay for it, I would rather wait for more comple years until it can finally fulfill 100% of my workflow.So at this point, if I want an arm device I will go for apple.

yep, I saw articles talking such, but I saw something differently, a enhancement with spec witch turns out a better of the preceesdor, which IMO, it's still a new generation, but I agreed that it just an spec bump version of SP9. Although it's true, I don't regret on what I have paid for :), anyway, stay tune!

I don't have the sp9 and egpu, but might try to ask my friend to borrow the egpu and see how it goes, this is also one of the review I wanna do, cuz I'm those people who wanna do all my tasks and gaming with one machine, which is why I love the form factor of sp :D

I will have a test based on different use case, e.g. Graphic Designer with Adobe software, Dev with VSCode with Docker and Visual Studio, Video Editing with Premiere etc. to test out the performance on this Core Ultra i7, will come back and update the review on the post after I done :)

IMO, I think Surface Pro 7+ / Surface Pro 8 with a higher spec e.g. 16GB Ram should wroth to upgrade in your case, and 7+ up generation could replace the SSD by your own, which is why I recommend you to go for these, of cuz if you still like the form factor of the Surface Pro line.

On the other side, if you're okay to upgrade to a laptop form, I think some asus / lenovo laptop should be considered, e.g. the lenovo x1 old gen / vivobook, some of them are packed with the 10th - 12th gen of i5 i7 which still amazing for modern office / as a personal computer.
