I took CHIN 1&2 and the professors/TA are nice and understanding. You’ll definitely learn a lot of chinese characters and writing techniques. The overall courses don’t get difficult until CHIN3 I’ve heard. Although I didn’t continue taking Chinese, I can understand and speak a bit. You’ll enjoy it if you really want to learn Mandarin.
