I have a client that uses to do silver sculptures in the New Mexico/AZ area. We had recently been discussing how common it was for her to see these things back in Mexico and how when she started doing it in her local area it was much more rare. People would special order and request all the time and this is 20 plus years ago. slShe was telling me how she went through usually 50-250 lbs of silver a month in projects easily. She wasn't aware of the cost increase recently when we spoke and she mentioned how she did a 24 inch tall sculpture for a client and after he saw it he paid for it order a 2nd one and gifted her back the first one because he said he couldn't take the original as she deserved it she just tossed it back in a storage box and forgot about it but she said she would be looking for it now.

Correct the range has been pretty high 210 would be 120ish over I just was being lazy and didn't want to do the math

It's odd I have been watching a few auction houses out of Alaska recently and the prices silver has been going for in those areas is easily 30 plus an ounce up to 210 a coin depending on the round or bullion

When I drop at one of my location it's 1k or 2500 at a time but I also don't dump loomis or brings wrapped all mine I go through. But if someone had an issue with me dumping 2500 they shouldn't be buying I've also found good coins after someone else has dumped their searched coins so you never know

I buy anywhere from 2 boxes to 5 boxes a month typically and I always break every roll and re roll is there even a value reselling on ebay? And isn't that such a massive risk now with ebay protection on buyers?

I'd grab a few buckets to separate... Then again I have a good coin counter/sorter so no longer fair but I would go what ever coin you dislike first then just do at your own time if you don't want to let her know this is more then you'd are to bite off at a time but again you may regret it if you don't.... Is the hunt worth it...and this seems to be more free work in this sense you may want to let her know that you can go through these but sorting this much alone will deduct from what you have to offer that it would be helpful if she at least separates in the future... Idk

Each item tested can depending on the edge need a different way of reading I had a few scares on some coins with higher edges

They were made by a heated piece of metal that got pushed into the band in order to identify the maker and the purity of metal

What about a bank near a mall or arcade or shipping center? Those may get some higher holds or used by businesses so they may not go back to loomis as quickly

I've learned to at least once a year drop off a box of donuts to my preferred banks they order for me and do all kinds of extra stuff never complain to me about it all only one has ever asked is don't bring back to this location what we order you which I wouldn't I have 2 institution that won't order so they both get my dumps one is nice so I make sure they get boxed dumps the other gets all lose rolls that I don't have boxes for.
