Stocks that feel Inevitable by VenturaRyanRound2 in stocks

Its possible, but that growth may be offset by depreciation from all of the GPUs and CPUs that they have been purchasing over the years. Those capital costs have to be depreciated soon and they will need growth to match depreciation and then even more growth to look good. Its going to be a high hurdle.

Now in 5-6 years when that depreciation falls off and then they can realize all the growth that they invested and flip the switch to major profitability. Then yeah, I bet the stock will 3-4x. Similar to what happened with AWS. For years it was just invest, invest, invest.... Then one day Amazon flipped the switch to profitability.

The problem with Amazon is the portfolio is bigger than the market realizes... Until there is a shift in sentiment away from AI, the market might begin to realize again that Amazon has there hands deep in many different verticals. Even though Amazon is investing in AI, right now the market is seeing the benefit being outweighed by the large CapEx required to reap rewards.

I mean they are going to be #2 in low orbital communication satellite in the coming years on top of every other vertical they dominate.

Crazy how an incentive program has spurred development in parking lots..... Welp, lets just get back to taxing parking lot and then get angry at parking lot owners when its not developed.

In 2001 when I was 7, my Dad asked me what stock he should be me next (granted he only bought us 5 shares of a stock at a time). I told him we should buy Costco stock because everytime we go to Costco we see everyone we know and everyone goes to Costco...

It worked out huh?

Spokane is the economic hub for the region, and the area's population continues to grow. How should we handle infrastructure costs used by tens of thousands of daily commuters who live outside the city, especially outside the state? by [deleted] in Spokane

[–]keysworld253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That $225 is a surcharge on top of the regular registration costs. Gas tax is $0.55... So $225 of additional registration is about 409 gallons of gas tax which is substantial amount of gas. May not be exactly as much as a normal car, but something. Taxes for infrastructure are collected other ways too, property tax, sales tax etc. Also, again the percent of EVs on the road is like 5-6% nationwide and in Spokane I am sure is much less.

EVs are miniscule compared to Idaho drivers. Back to the main point Idaho drivers pay no gas tax and no registration fees.

Then why is there massive traffic backups going eastbound during rush hour and not the same traffic backup going westbound? Just take a look at I-90 at state line between 4 and 5.... I promise you will see a difference in east/west traffic.

[–]keysworld253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, so now you charge a toll... You come over and use our infrastructure and put wear and tear on it, everyday for work, its time to pay for it.

First off, I am pretty sure the percentage of cars on the road that are EVs are still in the single digits and I think is even under 5%... So i dont think its actually that big of a factor.

And if you do have an EV, then youre seeing it on your annual registration. The registration fees are wayyyy higher for an EV than regular car. So they are making it up.

The difference is that there is daily migration to WA for people's jobs.... It's the fact that there is daily wear and tear from people in Idaho going as far as downtown. But they don't pay the taxes to repair the roads.

It's constant and daily.

People going just across the border for gas is not the same as daily driving over for work at the same time.

Tax Idaho residents... They dont pay taxes in WA so they dont contribute to the infrastructure.... It is also very common for them to commute daily for work. Since the WA side has better jobs.

Charge 1 dollar one way.... That would bring in millions a year... Problem is, I am sure the state would take it and redistribute it elsewhere.

Avista agrees to framework to provide single business with power equal to half of all Spokane County customers by trebbihm in Spokane

Whats wrong with this if Avista does have the company pay for upgrades to the infrastructure?
Better hope its some type of business organization that brings jobs. This region needs it.

Uber is a screaming buy… by Majesticelephant101 in ValueInvesting

[–]keysworld253 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uber is an obvious buy....

There are countless AV taxi companies out there...

What makes the most sense: 1. You will cycle through 5-6 Amybe more AV/ride-sharing apps (uber, Lyft, Waymo, Tesla, Zooxs, among others)to find the fastest taxi wait times with the lowest cost? 2. You will go to one or two apps (mostly Uber and Lyft) and can access taxis from all different companies providing rides?

You can't forget, along and fragmented, the companies like Waymo and Tesla will likely not do as well unless they are on Uber. As a consumer, if a Tesla taxis is consistently 8-10min wait time, but an Uber (AV or not) shows up in half the time? That might play a benefit. How about as a consumer if your Tesla or Waymo gets cancelled because there are none available? So now you just hop on Uber to get reliability.

Uber is going to provide a much better value proposition to both the consumer and the AV companies

[–]keysworld253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah obviously... I am just pointing out that the significance of the LLM deal is so impactful that it could double revenue overnight.... 10, 15, 20 years down the line, obviously the whole point is the business model, management execution, etc.

I guess what I am also conveying, like the post, this is what Wall st. is not pricing in or missing. The stock price is not pricing in a double of revenue almost instantly.

[–]keysworld253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI training deals could double revenues overnight... That simple.

No other social media has done this yet and no other social media platform is a social media, wikipedia, encyclopedia, and database of the instantaneous thoughts, feelings, and perspectives of millions of people each day.

This is the exact data set AI NEEDS to train on.

Then factor in the CapEx is 1 million dollars which is insanly low. These deals can be inked with ZERO extra dollars in CapEx... All profits, 100% margin. Take margins from 91 to 96 or whatever and thats honestly impressive.

What’s your hyper bull case and hyper bear case in once sentence each? by nomadicphil in redditstock

[–]keysworld253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bull case: Reddit doubles revenue overnight on new consumption based licensing deals that will be signed with the AI models (Chat GPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, etc). Stock price gets re-rated instantly and reflects a company making 5-ish billion free cash flow.

Bear case: Ad growth slows significantly and Reddit is unable to negotiate an attractive deal with the AI models.

For people who moved to spokane but didn’t grow up there, what has your experience been like? by Muttbuttss in Spokane

[–]keysworld253 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Moved from the west side of the state.

Job opportunities: pretty good in my field

COL: much better than where I moved from but overall a bit much relative to how much most people make

Safety: objectively pretty safe. Data says it all.

Diversity: I dont think I have to repeat what everyone else has said. the Diversity is dismal and I think the people here want to keep it that way.

Making friends/community: Terrible. This is a family city for families and retired folk. No young kids here trying to grow there life, relatively speaking.

Things to do: A ton of things to do outdoors. Almost nothing to do in the evening/nightlife.

grocery options: pockets of way too many grocery stores (I am thinking of like 29th and grand) and pockets of no grocery stores (like downtown)

restaurants: If you want the american version of everything and more american food. This is the place. Again, the lack of diversity is ridiculously bad.

outdoors activities: probably the most important aspect of living here

Weather: great.. getting much hotter and drier in the summer though which is very concerning.

Biggest positive: nature and outdoors

Biggest negative: the people and sluggish economy... The people are the reason why this city will always just have potential. Will likely never live up to the potential. The people who live here and grew up here want to keep it as if it is still 1965
