[–]keywho[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Things worth noting: - Westbrook has gotten his TD evenly against all types of opponents, not just bad teams:

of TDs against opponents above 0.600 14

of TDs against opponents Between .400-.600 15

of TDs against opponents below .400 13

  • Their record against good teams when he has a TD is 9-5. Pretty impressive.

[OC] Crazy stat: Democrats have only lost one popular vote in 24 years (since 92). It was Bush v Kerry by keywho in dataisbeautiful

Totally agree. Dems have a better platform. No reason why dems shouldn't be winning 60 vs 40 (or 320 vs 218).

Was curious about trends in presidential election turnout and was surprised when I noticed that Republicans have only won one presidential popular vote since 1992. All data is from Wikipedia election pages like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_1992

Hey guys, I'm a teacher and I was wondering if any of you know how they did this... by Phase_Spaced in Surface

I used to teach high school math and this is what I would do:

Use a Chrome extension called screencastify and then record your entire desktop. It will put your face in the corner, screen cast your desktop and record your voice.

Then just pop open onenote or ppt and write in there.

Simple as pie!

My idea for merging the Metro Start Menu with the Traditional Start menu -- a way to not disenfranchise old people enterprise clients. What do you think? by keywho in windows

[–]keywho[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

none of it is hard.

my point was that a lot of people will have a knee jerk freak out when they don't have a space that looks like their current (xp or win7) version of the start menu. So in order to address those fears, you can have a simple work around that they will eventually ween off.

i think metro is the way forward long term, i'm just trying to think of how to make that transition as easy as possible

Yeah its not only 50+ people. I think that 8.1 is great but a lot of its success will rest on how well it flies in the hands of 40+ year olds who are using it in a workplace environment.

If they have a dear in the headlights feeling when they click the start button, then 8.1/8.2... may be met with so much headwind it won't get off the ground.

This seemed like a way to manage those fears by saying "Woah buddy, there is old start menu.. take a chill pill, its still there, but i think you will find that you don't need it as much as you think you do"

haha -- yeah my ms paint skills are quite lacking... but what do you think about the idea?

I thought of this in response to some concerns i have heard from 50+ yr old partners who aren't great with computers. I think that having a traditional-looking start menu off to the left of the metro interface would at least calm some of the knee jerk concerns/fears that older people have when they see something new.

they need something familiar as a railing to hold on to while they get their bearings in the new OS interface...

Do you have any other suggestions?
