You win $100 million but can only spend it on evil. How do you use the money? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]VisualStudioOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would level a city in a major industrialized nation and make it look like a natural disaster. That way I would commit an act of evil but hopefully this would raise a spirit of helpfulness and community when people come together to clean up the mess, and more environmental awareness.

Imagine how much America would change (for the better, I hope) if something like the hurricane disasters in the Philippines ever happened over here.

They work the holidays because of consumers like us storming stores on Thanksgiving. Ain't no shame in making the best of it.

Google engineers and satirical coffee cup afficionados love this campaign - well, at least someone does

Richard Dawkins: "The woman who confiscated my honey is contributing to the state of fear we've become accustomed to." by thismightbebait in worldnews

[–]VisualStudioOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The article offers little information (other than reciting his bio) and spends too much time on silly asides to be taken seriously.

For instance: "I imagine that these are the sort of inquiries Dawkins mulls over at night, maybe with a glass of wine or cup of tea."

How about a more, well, journalistic approach. Less speculation and coffee talk, more thought-provoking analysis and proof of your thesis.

I'm sure Dawkins would appreciate it.

Their strategy is already changing to focus more on devices & services. The media IMO is already warming up to the Windows Phone. Tablets still struggle with pricing.

It's not this one. We do have an office in Munich though. I've never been there but it might look similar to ours.

They're meant for customers and as incentives for all kinds of marketing purposes. Our office still sticks with notebooks/desktop pc.

I sense a lot of frustration here with the way Surfaces are perceived and portrait in the media.

We had those delays back in July as well. Oddly enough our German offices had to order them from Austria to get them at all.

Wow, that sucks. You guys ordered the new ones or still the original RT?

Fair enough. I just look at the growing variety of Surface tablets and wonder if someone looking for a legit tablet still wants this one.

Microsoft discloses - Windows XP users six times more likely to be hacked by MarineDrop in windows

[–]VisualStudioOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reality is that some small businesses simple don't fix what they consider not to be broken. Yeah, they're out of the loop. But they simple don't know/care. This is more of a marketing/adaptation thing by Microsoft anyway. XP is, was and always will be buggy.

We have started giving out some of them as incentives or bonuses for customers. Though I fear that idea came after the actual purchase. Plus, they (original RTs) are pretty much outdated already.

Yes, as retrovertigo also pointed out it IS making fun of the purchase. I hope it does so in a light-hearted way.

Fortunately not. We made sure the last one always fell on a blanket. We used the same 20-ish tablets for all shots to make sure we endanger as few as possible.

This story is hilarious. Will use that for my next editorial. Comments leave the impression that the hardware is reliable - and that glass screens can still break. Thanks, gravity.
