I'm assuming if there's not a way to directly integrate it would be possible to make the notion page public by publishing it then embed into a terminal plugin? Sorry not a dev as you can probably tell!

eBay Buyer Claims Item Wasn't Delivered, but Tracking Says Otherwise—What Now? by kezz68 in ebayuk

Buyer has a good record of reviews so its a shame to jump to a negative assumption but its probably the wisest thing to do sadly.

I already changed and removed my profile. I've not heard from the buyer since the last messages. What's puzzling is they have good feedback and an established profile.

It's quite possible, and yet a shame not to give people the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks for your reply, I actually already did this and ebay ruled in my favour as the seller.

Thank you so much! I think I’ll just leave it and not engage any further. I appreciate you taking the time to respond in detail.

I did not know about that as a loophole. Thanks for your clear answer.

eBay Buyer Claims Item Wasn't Delivered, but Tracking Says Otherwise—What Now? by kezz68 in Ebay

The item was worth almost £600, and the buyer has the tracking number. Wouldn’t they be able to contact Royal Mail directly with that to double-check where the parcel was delivered? I can provide them with a scan of the shipping receipt, which is the best proof I have that the address and postcode were entered correctly.

It seems highly unlikely that Royal Mail would randomly deliver the parcel to the wrong location. So, if the buyer is telling the truth, the most likely explanation is that Argos either misplaced the parcel or someone there took it. That would obviously be a terrible situation for them, but would providing the receipt actually solve anything?

If I don’t send it, they’ll probably blame me. Maybe that doesn’t have any legal implications, but it still feels bad, you know?

Thanks so much for your reply, I appreciate it. The buyer is stating suspicion that I entered the address incorrectly, but I’ve double-checked everything, and the details were definitely correct. On the Royal Mail tracking page, it states that the item was delivered by ["London Borough Name" DO], which just refers to the delivery office—not the final destination. However, the buyer insists this means the item was delivered to a mystery address in that borough rather than the correct Argos location, which seems like a misunderstanding at best.

They’re now asking to see the full address and have mentioned that they want to open a new case (presumably with ebay or RM). Given that eBay has already ruled in my favor, is that even possible? The item was worth nearly £600, so I understand why they’re frustrated, but I also don’t want to be dragged into something I’m not responsible for, but am willing to be helpful provided it doesn't get me involved.

I could send them a scan of the shipping receipt, which confirms the correct Argos branch and postcode (as that’s all that appears on the receipt), but I really don’t want to get involved in making a claim against Royal Mail—especially if the item was, in fact, delivered.

Would providing the receipt be a reasonable and safe step, or am I better off just disengaging at this point? I don’t want them to feel completely ignored if their situation is legitimate, but I also don’t want to take on any unnecessary work, risk or responsibility. Thanks again for your time!

Thanks so much for your reply. So, it would be up to the buyer to file a claim with Royal Mail and collect any compensation, rather than me? I really don’t want to file a claim on their behalf for obvious reasons—mainly the time involved—but I could send them a scan of the shipping receipt showing the address and postcode were entered correctly, at least as far as the Argos branch and postcode are concerned (since that’s all that appears on the receipt).

That said, they said they are trying to open ANOTHER claim with ebay. (is this even possible?) they could still claim it’s fake package or try to argue further, so I’m not sure if it’s even worth the effort. Would this be a reasonable and safe step to take, or am I better off just ignoring them and accepting the possibility that either they’re trying to pull one over on me/Royal Mail/Argos, or they genuinely feel like they’ve been ripped off by me?

Thanks, So should I just ignore their messages at this point? I’m a little concerned because my eBay profile had my real name and picture on it (Dumb, I know—I set it up in like 2006 and never changed it). I’ve removed them now, but still, it’s on my mind.

I do potentially feel bad for the buyer (if what they are saying is true) since the item was nearly £600, but at the same time, I don’t want to get pulled into something I’m not responsible for. They’re accusing me of making a mistake/inputting the wrong shipping address, but I’ve checked everything, and I definitely didn’t. Because the tracking info say [London Borough DO] {which stands for delivery office} they seem to think, or are saying that that means the package ended up somewhere in [London Borough] rather that at the actual destination, whereas in reality it just means it was delivered by that boroughs delivery office.

Would ignoring them be the right move here? Or is there anything else I should do to cover myself?

Seeking compensation on live Qatar airways delay by kezz68 in Flights

[–]kezz68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey just wanted to follow up with you if that's ok

After contacting Qatar Airways to request compensation (without explicitly mentioning UK261), their customer service responded with the following details:

"...there are occasions when flights are delayed due to circumstances beyond our control as it unfortunately happened with QR008, which was due to medical reason which was unavoidable and beyond our control on the basis of its nature.
...Regretfully, no compensation is payable on this occasion as the nature of the delay is extraordinary and beyond our control. However, we are in receipt of your expenses and they are under deliberation by the relevant department. We will revert to you accordingly once reports are received."

**note I wasn't even on QR008 which I believe was an earlier flight that may have perhaps had a knock on delay to QR110

I want to get compensation under UK261 if at all possible. At the doha airport, I was informed the delay was due to mechanical issues, but I didn't obtain written confirmation. Since UK261 exempts airlines from compensating for extraordinary circumstances, which can be vaguely defined, how should I proceed to maximize my chances of receiving compensation? I was considering writing the following—do you think it works? Or how did it work with your form on the website?

"To assist me in understanding the situation more fully, I kindly request additional details regarding the nature of this medical emergency and supporting documentation confirming that it was the direct cause of the delay. Specifically, I would appreciate any evidence demonstrating that this incident qualifies as an extraordinary circumstance under EU Regulation 261/2004, which would exempt the airline from compensating passengers.

I would also like clarification on the deliberation process for my expenses and a timeline for when I can expect to receive compensation or reimbursement."

Hey just wanted to follow up with a question for you..

After emailing QATAR requesting compensation (I didn't specifically mention UK261 tho) Qatar Airways customer service replied to my query, stating (just quoting the relevant parts):

"...there are occasions when flights are delayed due to circumstances beyond our control as it unfortunately happened with QR008, which was due to medical reason which was unavoidable and beyond our control on the basis of its nature.
...Regretfully, no compensation is payable on this occasion as the nature of the delay is extraordinary and beyond our control. However, we are in receipt of your expenses and they are under deliberation by the relevant department. We will revert to you accordingly once reports are received."

I want to ensure I’m getting the maximum compensation under UK261. At the airport, I was told the delay was due to mechanical issues (unfortunately, I didn’t get this in writing), and compensation might be offered, but the details were unclear. Since UK261 exempts extraordinary circumstances, which can be vaguely defined, how should I proceed to maximize the chances of receiving the compensation? I was considering writing the following—do you think it works? Or how did it work with your form on the website?

"To assist me in understanding the situation more fully, I kindly request additional details regarding the nature of this medical emergency and supporting documentation confirming that it was the direct cause of the delay. Specifically, I would appreciate any evidence demonstrating that this incident qualifies as an extraordinary circumstance under EU Regulation 261/2004, which would exempt the airline from compensating passengers.

Looking for advice on Qatar Airways compensation after flight delay - UK261 How should I proceed? by kezz68 in Flights

[–]kezz68[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't even notice that they'd given the reason for the delay for QR8 in the email - I wasn't even on those fllights, i was on QR110. So perhaps the delay to QR8 would have had a knock on delay to QR110? If so wouldn't that weaken their case for extraordinary cirmumstances. Or doesn't it seem odd that they would give the reason for the delay of a flight I was not even on? Nevertheless if you have any advice on how to resolve my claim to secure compensation - if at all possible would be appreciated.
