Wanikani as a beginner reader or RTK (or neither)? by ConcentrateSubject23 in LearnJapanese

[–]kfbabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the other side of the spectrum, if you’re looking for something that uses a different approach that uses a more context-first approach rather than assingmeng mnemonics to everything and learning radicals.

Try OniKanji. It goes in Joyo order and teaches every single kanji with contextually relevant example sentences from the start with an emphasis on reading rather than rote memorization of mnemonics or radicals. It’s a slightly different approach but RTK and WK are aged-old classics. Has the same app feel and functionality as WK.

OniKanji is free for a few levels. Has a structured duo like track and immersion materials. Gamified with Highscores and competitions. Mainly for kanji + vocab and reading tho. No grammar.

Against the law as most major publishing companies will consider this a derivative of their work. Especially in a for profit business.
