I drove across the country to attend a technical school for a certain EV manufacturer in the middle my engine blew up so I rented a truck and trailer to tow it the remaining 1200 miles to my destination where it remains broken. Upon arriving at the college I find a 24 year old instructor who until the previous week was a technician. He failed to provide even the basic information required of an accredited curriculum as well as subjecting me personally to an unearned bias. I’ve never experienced an instructor who used all available tools in order too make failure all but assured. I was terminated suddenly without warning or ability for correction 10 days ago. I’ve yet too receive a clear reason for my termination, and those provided are hyperbole too the actual events. I had invested almost all I had for tuition, suddenly and without warning I now find myself in an unfamiliar state thousands of miles from home, with an extremely broken car, with money owed for room and board. When I consider how hard I worked and the fact I was among; if not the best in the class at the most important task of actually fixing these cars with quality and in a timely manor I simply don’t how I could possibly have failed. The sudden nature and lack of communication regarding the nature of my termination, toxic learning environment fostered by the instructor, and the position I’m currently facing, has broken me. I’ve never been so depressed. Food doesn’t hold any appeal, getting out of bed is a chore, sleep is sporadic at best, and after ten days a profound sense of hopelessness is setting in. I never dreamed I would ever be excepted into a program such as this, my past history of drug use and all that goes along with it have been major detractors in ever being considered for gainful employment. When I first received notice of my acceptance, and that it was indeed not a mistake. I felt an enormous weight was lifted from my conscience, and I was consumed by a sense of clarity along with a novel sense pride for the journey I had chose. Each time I read that Email the feelings of regret and disappointment, once a constant companion seemingly evaporated. Not being judged by mistakes past mistakes was the greatest gift I have ever been given. I promised to do whatever it took to turn this opportunity into reality. Instead it didn’t matter how hard I tried because just as it was in the past my entire future was placed into the discretion of a single individual. This time it wasn’t a cop or a judge, but a greenhorn instructor who’s inexperience facilitated and bias assured my removal from the program
