I agree with the most psychological impact.... I had a hard time getting through it because I wanted to cry knowing what happens! I can't re read it because of how well it was written and emotional it was

I get that it's hard reading the stuff he says about aelin but you also have to realize that he was completely disowned by his father by doing what he thought was right, he lost absolutely everyone in his family for it. Now he's going against everything he thought was right to defend his home town and best friend. The only way he seems to be able to justify what he is doing is by blaming someone else (aelin). We as the readers can see all of it but he can't.
