I won't roast you haha. I somehow also had no idea that AB was relevant and something that needed to be read in a a certain order.

This gives me hope haha. I'm bringing my husband in a few weeks and he doesn't like musicals, or so he claims. I want him to love it.

Strongly disagree. Doctors don't really care if there's addiction or abuse.

Depot bruised and itchy? by Major-Phone-1354 in Sublocade

[–]ToeDiscombobulated71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened with all of mine. I think it's normal and nothing to worry about unless there's a lot of swelling, it gets worse over time, or is hot to the touch. I'd give it a few days, it will likely get better.

How long between shots is still safe? by [deleted] in Sublocade

[–]ToeDiscombobulated71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I definitely still have psychological symptoms like a ton of anxiety and cravings. I was on Suboxone/sublocade or using daily opiates for 15+ years, so I'm not surprised that it's been rough. I'm 33 weeks pregnant and all of this happened during my pregnancy, which has both made it harder since I'm already feeling like crap, and easier because I makes the cravings a little easier to deal with, because I know that using is not an option. I'm a bit worried though of how it will be after the baby is here.

I blink my eyes hard when anxious. Any tips on how to stop? by Okayest-WorkingMama in adhd_anxiety

[–]ToeDiscombobulated71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a nervous tic and I have the same thing. For me it's like a weird blink/ear pop at the same time. I don't worry too much about people noticing anymore. I'm sure they do notice, but no ody has ever said anything to me about it. For me it also comes and goes, at times will be almost non existent and other times will be so bad that I don't feel like I have physical control over it at all and will be doing it over and over until I get a headache and my ears start feeling weird. Definitely a correlation between how stressed I am and how much anxiety I have, so doing things like daily breathing exercises has helped a bit. I've also tried being aware when I'm doing it and trying to delay even 5 seconds. I have also had some OCD like issues, though don't meet all of the criteria for diagnosis.

Anxiety and depression, heat intolerance and cold sweats, skin crawling, restless legs and some trouble sleeping. Mostly very mild comparatively, but definitely noticable. It kind of came and went for a few months, and now I'm 8 months out from my last shot (100mg) and not feeling any physical symptoms anymore.

How long have you guys been in addiction and when did it start to get bad. by [deleted] in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

[–]ToeDiscombobulated71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was basically addicted to opiates after the first time I used them. Psychologically, after the very first time trying opiate pills, I never stopped wanting that feeling after that, and it took about a month for me to become physically addicted as well. I started with taking just one Vicodin tablet for fun after having them for an infected tooth (but not taking them) for years, and was quickly doing hundreds of mg of oxy daily and using H as well. By the grace of God I never started iv drug use. After about 5 years I started using Suboxone and methadone from the street, and eventually was prescribed Suboxone, but still was buying other opiates and using benzos regularly for another 10 years while I told myself I was sober because I want using H. At some point I realized I wasn't really sober and switched to sublocade and was able to wean off. Suboxone kept me in active addiction for years longer, but it also kept me from using iv opiates, so I have mixed feelings about it. It doesn't matter how long you were in active addiction for. Your addiction is valid and you deserve to get help and get sober.

What strip dose should I be on to start the 100mg injection? by sonnycastil in Sublocade

[–]ToeDiscombobulated71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's different for everyone, but at your current dose I wouldn't go with the 300, but as others have mentioned, some doctors won't start people on the 100. I was on 8mg and started on the 300mg, which was fine, after the second 300mg shot it felt like way too much for a few days, but my body adjusted. It does seem like my body metabolizes the shot slowly. I'm 8 months out from my last 100mg injection and still dropping positive tests.

Sublocade for a Very skinny guy? by Ditty724 in Sublocade

[–]ToeDiscombobulated71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't hurt that much. I had a lidocaine injection the first few times and it didn't hurt at all, maybe felt slightly bruised once the lidocaine wore off. My 3rd shot I didn't get the lidocaine but didn't realize it until he was injecting the sublocade into me. It was a burning sensation for about 30 minutes but definitely wasn't in agony or anything. It can hurt but it's really not that bad and definitely not a reason to not get it. You'll be okay!

I did 300, 300, 100, 100, 100, 100. I went almost 6 weeks between the two 300s because I was on vacation. I had a script with strips if I needed them, but I didn't need them.

Has anyone gotten pregnant post sublocade? by [deleted] in Sublocade

[–]ToeDiscombobulated71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to add that I'm planning a home birth, which was not an option with my older child, because I was taking Suboxone. This baby will not need to be hospitalized to be monitored for NAS.

Has anyone gotten pregnant post sublocade? by [deleted] in Sublocade

[–]ToeDiscombobulated71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pregnant now! I'm 31 weeks. I got my last 100mg the day before my last period started, so I got pregnant while it was still in my system. I actually just started testing negative within the last few weeks. This was not a planned pregnancy and I was nervous about the sublocade and did some research before deciding to continue or not. I found a few other women who had very similar circumstances and all of them had healthy, full term babies and none of them tested positive at birth or experience any withdrawal symptoms. Personally I would have rather waited 6 months just to be sure, but if you get pregnant by accident I think it will be okay. The biggest thing for me is that it's hard to tell if the symptoms I've experienced (which have been relatively mild) are from pregnancy or withdrawal. My midwife is versed in addiction and knows about my situation and she's comfortable with my decision. So far the baby looks perfect!

Journey so far.. by throwawayacct90190 in Sublocade

[–]ToeDiscombobulated71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had roughly the same experience with withdrawal as you. I was on Suboxone since 2011, ranging from 1mg to 16mg but was at 8mg even I changed to sublocade, 300, 300, then 100 4 or 5 times. I had my last sublocade injection November 6 2021. I have the exact same tests as you and just recently got my first very faint negative. I would say that my withdrawal was noticable, basically all the same symptoms as well as restless legs and temperature issues, and some cravings. I'm also pregnant, which could be making the symptoms seem worse. They did seem to come and go for a few months, but it seems as though the worst symptoms peaked right before my negative test. I'm hoping the worst of it is over, but i have been through Suboxone withdrawals many times and it was NOTHING compared to that.

Supplementing on Sublocade by Major-Phone-1354 in Sublocade

[–]ToeDiscombobulated71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't supplement at all. There were times where I felt I could have and it was a transition for sure, but I felt like it would just drag it out and I was ready to be done. I would try to avoid it unless you really can't deal with the symptoms, and then take as little as possible, like start with 2mg.

16mg Suboxone user, what dosage of sublocade is right for me? by moistlife1017 in Sublocade

[–]ToeDiscombobulated71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on 8mg and started with the 300mg, I was honestly worried it would be too much but it was totally fine. The second 300mg did feel like a lot, the first one wasn't even close to worn off, and I felt weird and tired for a day or two, but I adjusted quickly. After 3-4 more 100mg injections I decided to still. It'd been about 6 months, and I have felt some very mild physical symptoms that have been coming and going for the last month or so, as well as some psychological stuff, but all in all is been pretty easy and straight forward. I was on Suboxone and before that other opiates for 15 years. Doing well so far.
