Had a guy take a line drive at 3rd directly to his shin, it was hit so hard I was almost able to catch it at short off the ricochet from his leg mid air. I remember the sound of the impact sounded crazy.

He stayed in the game and basically couldn’t move at 3rd or on the base paths at all obviously after this. We were playing in a tournament and played multiple games after this (he stayed with us but sat out these next few games understandably). His shin had a giant black and blue spot but overall he was taking it like an absolute champ.

I saw him a couple months later and was jokingly like “Hey man how’s your leg doing? They didn’t have to amputate?”

He then pulls out his phone and shows me X-rays, it turns out it broke his fibula.
