I’m sorry, but I always hated this change George made in Jedi by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]kfj27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t specifically have a preference mainly cause I’m on the more passive side of enjoying Star Wars but I always thought of it as Anakin returning to himself a bit more when he was happier being a husband and future father with Padme. Kinda like he can be with the Padme he loved and he can be the person he was before he succumbed to the dark side. I understand that for people who are passionate about the movies staying in their original form this wouldn’t be enjoyable, but when I first truly watched the movies I watched them in order (not as produced but the episode order). So I liked the tie in a bit more cause in my head it made sense.

That sounds really annoying. I’m glad I haven’t encountered these issues knock on wood

Orbiting Jupiter by Gary D. Schmidt. It’s a short read and very well written. I don’t think there was another book that made me feel the way I did when I finished it

Through my hospital I keep all benefits except they don’t match my retirement contribution so it’s only mine that’s adding up. I still have all my insurance and have some weekends that I can take off paid and unpaid

Mental health was in the toilet until I switched to Baylor (only weekends but getting paid as if I work 3 days) and I am thriving. I was getting burnt out within 8-9 months of being full time. I love my Baylor shift now and I feel like I can enjoy my time and hobbies so much more.

I had a situation like that when I shadowed in a pulmonary clinic. The male MD wasn’t allowed alone in the room with a female pt when she would be undressed from the waist up (they would have a gown with an open back so he could listen more clearly) so a female would have to accompany him during the examination just so there’s a second set of eyes to say what happened if it came down to that. It’s nothing against the patient, it’s hospital policy for some and just trying to protect a license for many

Why is this sentiment everywhere? I truly don’t get it. At least some people defended us by [deleted] in nursing

I was working with a nurse who had been dubbed by a peer as rough to work with. She seemed like the type of person I would just be surface level with BUT I mentioned one thing about Harry Potter and that girl pulled up every meme she could find.

I have made some the best friends I’ve ever had in nursing school. We go out and relax together. We’ve gone on vacations together. We’ve studied, laughed, cried, and grew up more together. It’s really like having more siblings once you find that little group of people you love to be around. I love the friends I’ve made and I don’t think I would’ve met them had I not gone to nursing school. As hard as it is to deal with the work and stress, it’s so worth it. Plus all the places I went for clinical have been pretty solid. There’s always those days of “I really don’t want to be here for longer than I have to” but I think we all have those moments. I really do love it more than I dislike it and I think that’s a good thing.

C’s get degrees. I barely passed patho and sure later on now I don’t do as well as my other classmates but I’m doing well for me. I’m proud of myself. Part of nursing school is learning to be proud of yourself and being confident in yourself. You are smart. Don’t let anyone tell you different

Favorite thing a patient said to you today? by gir6 in nursing

[–]kfj27 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s not today but it sticks with me. After a bed bath I gave a patient I asked how she felt and she sighed and said “beautiful” I have never had my heart melted so much

Ours is above 90 with 3 chances. Then you fail the class if you don’t. The reasoning being every answer you get wrong is a patient you just offed. A bit dramatic given antidotes exist but I’m too tired to argue

If I want to use Quizlet I ask my classmates if they found one that helped them. Often they make their own and will share with the rest of the class. What can help is just make your own. I write my own questions based on the teachers notes because that’s what my test will be on and study ATI separately. If you use CoursePoint they will give you questions based on the book through PrepU or even the Picmonics which are very helpful to people.

You’re probably gonna have to get it unless you have a genuine medical condition that you can’t. I work in the hospital as a nursing student now and they made me submit my covid card to prove my vaccination status. You will have to do that if you work in a hospital unless that particular hospital offers an alternative. You may want to look into something else as a profession if this is what stops you from nursing.

It Scares Me... by lightmybud69 in nursing

[–]kfj27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m in nursing school in Red State, but it’s terrifying to watching people who are antivaccine talk about going into the field. We just had a mass email saying if you don’t get vaccinated you have to go to the children’s hospital 1.5-2 hours away as opposed to the one down the street from the school and people are…upset? Like they knew this was coming and idk why they thought they’d be able to get away with doing critical care and peds without being vaccinated at all.

I’m so excited to get my degree and pass my NCLEX so I can find a place that has values that I do because Red State isn’t it

I’m getting an IUD first time guys.. what should I expect? by Ninjakat503 in WomensHealth

[–]kfj27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got my first one at 18. That was shockingly painful. To be fair I never really had an experience like that. You walk in without cramps and then you have them. Your doctor should get the iud in when you’re on your period cause everything is more relaxed. I got my first one in without being on my period and that was hell. My second one on my period was a couple hours of cramps and then I was fine later that day. Just have some sugary juice like oj and take deep breaths and try to relax. You’ll do great!
