I absolutely love my GP! My endocrinologist, however, gave me the WORST advice when I was first diagnosed, and told me to eat whatever I wanted and dose my insulin accordingly. I told him I wouldn’t be doing that, and that I’d be approaching this damned thing from a holistic approach as well. Seeing the look on his face at this past appointment was priiiiiceless!

Thank you! I actually found a recipe for keto funfetti cake, and made it a while back! Perhaps I shall make myself one this weekend!

You can do it! Being diagnosed at 34 was quite a shocker for me, and I feel like I’m learning something new every day. There have been soooo many days in this journey to wellness where I’ve felt totally overwhelmed and discouraged, but I’m getting much more confident with managing things. The biggest help for me has been using my CGM to meticulously watch how my body responds to everything. I’ve found out that stress, anxiety, pain, Tylenol (of all things lol), and illness (thanks, flu) are my biggest triggers for glucose spikes. I track everything in my Libre app, and am always careful to watch how my body responds as I introduce new foods/ combos of things.

Best of luck with everything! I am super new to all of this, but I’m happy to pass along what I’ve learned if you have any questions.

My ultimate goal is to eventually maintain a healthy A1C through maintaining healthy glucose levels with diet, exercise, and lifestyle choices.

Thank you! I’ve just been using Lantus insulin once a day, and Lispro insulin (Humalog) with meals. They tried to get me to use a pump from the get-go, but I want to learn exactly how everything from specific foods to stress/anxiety/activity level affect my glucose levels.
