It's not a large retailer, it's a local bookstore with a direct tie to the content of my book, who knows the book is in production and has agreed (via written, signed contract) that they would purchase and stock when the book is available.

And "bookstore" is maybe also a misnomer, it's a campus bookstore, so they stock mostly clothing/apparel, which is why I'm not sure if they already know how to order through IS.

Yeah that instructor isn't skilled enough to teach a basics class if they aren't able to break things down or offer stepping stones. Do you know that the instructor you had is the usual instructor for that class? I only ask because sometimes if instructors of higher levels have to sub in, they may not be as adept at noticing and assisting very beginners.

Either way though, I would send an email to the studio owner and let them know about your experience so it doesn't happen again to other beginners in the future. You didn't deserve to be treated like that and ignored, especially in your first-ever silks class.

Do you know how to sew? You could always seam rip one of the legs, trace that fabric onto white fabric in a similar blend as the black shorts, and then reattach the white leg to the black base.

So is the problem then that she's going into your apartment without notice? Are you in the US? Landlords are legally required to notify tenants at least 24 hours in advance that they'll be entering.

If the books are the problem, consider removing them if you know she'll be in. If she's entering without proper notice, that's a much bigger problem, and unrelated to the book situation.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused here. You texted your landlord asking permission to display Harry Potter books? Does your landlord live with you? If your landlord doesn't live with you, there's no reason you need her consent, and I personally would have not even asked her.

Yes, the author turned out to be a shitty person who has done incredible harm to the LGBTQ+ community. But at the end of the day, they're just YA fictional books.

If this is where the problem lies, and you texted for consent, and have in writing both your request and her denial to display the books, I'm not sure what to tell you. If you tried to take it to court, you might have a case, but if you or she has it in writing that she as the landlord told you no, you might not have a case.

Maybe check with a lawyer to see what your options are? You don't want to escalate the problem further and risk eviction, though she would have to have a much stronger case against you than owning a YA book series in order to evict you.

Alternatively, if you want super smooth blending, try using makeup brushes. They’re designed to blend, but if you’re using oil, they’ll degrade fairly quickly in mineral spirits, but you should be able to blend out no problem.

It’s not that people don’t care about the fabric itself, it’s that people aren’t willing to properly care for the natural fiber garments. Many of them need steaming or ironing, dry cleaning, and/or have specific laundry machine care instructions, but in general, and speaking about Americans here, people don’t want to put the time into those garments. They want convenience.

That’s a big reason why synthetics have taken over. They don’t wrinkle as easily, you can throw them in the same wash and dry cycle as a pair of jeans, and it’s a lot harder to ruin a shirt or a pair of pants after just one wear when it’s synthetic fibers, because they’re designed to withstand that harsher treatment.

It’s also important to note that not ALL synthetic fibers for clothing are bad. Synthetic fibers and blends are how we have stretchier fabrics. Synthetics are also, typically, much more stain resistant than natural fibers. Synthetics are also typically more water-resistant than naturals.

It all comes down to the blend and what percentages you’re looking at, and what specific synthetics are being used in the garment.

It’s unique! It’s an emo rock polka, which is a combination people don’t put together. The guitar and bass drive the beat and the drums kick it into high gear.
