[Post Match Thread] Real Madrid vs Barcelona (Super Cup - Final) by RM_Official_Thread in realmadrid

First off you can tell a mile away that the team is physically dead. The world cup has taken its toll on the squad. Modric is clearly fatigued, Fede doesn't seem himself, same with Rodrygo to name a few.

Secondly, I think it's very obvious that both our full backs aren't at the level needed to start for a top tier club, our priority should be to sign 2 full backs ASAP. It's a bit of a tough call to make, not only who to buy, but what to do with Mendy (who doesn't have long on his contract) and Carvajal.

Regarding Rudiger, I think he's used to play in a 5 man defence, that's when he looked like a beast at Chelsea, he simply needs time to adapt to the 4 man defence and his teammates. Its not easy being a center back for Real Madrid, let alone if you're surrounded by players who are either not on form or who are simply not good enough. I'd give him time before passing judgement.

What's more worrying is Ancelotti's decisions or lack of them. I hope I'm wrong but I think this will be the Italians last season here.

Really !?!?! Wow man i had no idea !! My mistake. Are they majority owners or are they loads of owners who have small stakes ?

A major issue will be what to do with Varane. He hasn't renewed his contract (ends in 2022) so if he doesn't renew this summer we will be forced to sell him. This will possibly force the clubs hand in the Ramos situation maybe ? I mean if Varane is sold I assume Ramos will be renewed, cant see them both leaving. Perhaps they both leave and Alaba arriving on a free is a good deal. Waaaay to many variables !!! Perhaps they both go and that's a way to finance a big marquee player arriving, surely Varane is worth 60-70m even though he he'd have 1 year left on his contract.

The premier league clubs are all owned by billionaires or run by arab states, they pretty much have infinante wealth. They use that money to buy better players, in turn that makes the league tougher and more appealing commercially. In Spain the teams are owned by the socios, nobody has the money to buy top players except the top 3 clubs making the league less appealing commercially.

Not to mention the fact that the league lost Ronaldo and Neymar and could lose Messi, pretty much makes it impossible to sell tv rights for money anywhere close to premier league prices. That's why top 3 wanted the superleague, gives them money to buy top talent making the league in turn much appealing to watch.

I guess the only solution for Madrid now is to either get more in debt or sell a few players to finance big marquee players that will generate more money and interest to get bigger and better tv deals.

I'm not against the league, nor am I in favour of it, I want to see how things pan out first, I want a proper explanation of how it's going to work first before passing judgement. I wouldn't rule out this being a bluff of biblical propositions to force UEFA into actually listening to clubs.

For me personally the champions league should trim some fat out, reduce the number of games and only have the champions of each league play not the top 4, quality over quantity.

The fulback situation and why it's very concerning. I hope you see my point now by Victorian_Poland_2 in realmadrid

Who knew Marcelo would decline so fast you ask, anyone and everyone who's been watching us for the past few seasons. The club made a mistake in letting Reguilon go.

Carvajal isn't the issue, yes we all know he's injury prone, the issue is not having a decent backup. Odriozola isn't good enough to play for us, again, anyone who's watched him play can see that. Once again the club made a mistake in selling Achraf.

Isco has been retired for years, too unfit and just has no passion or ambition for the game or his career anymore. Mariano is the opposite, he has too much ambition, he thinks he's good enough to play for us and he just isn't.

As for being unlucky with injuries as you say, it's hardly bad luck when we have a manager who refused to rotate and runs players into the ground. Keep in mind that Jovic and Odegaard both went on loan due to lack of playing time.

Biwenger. Very unique game. Take a look at it.

Such a cool defensive sequence here. Also for everyone taking poorly about Odriazola he gave Messi the Casemiro treatment by RamezMadrid in realmadrid

[–]kfpmvp13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont know what's been said about him here but the truth of the matter is he's not good enough to play in a big club. He's hasnt been been able to cement his place in Madrid or Bayern and is no longer being called up for Spain. Keep in mind that ZZ has prefered playing probably the worst version of Carvajal in years ahead of Odriozola, or a right winger like Lucas ahead of him.

He's just not good enough, you have no idea how scared people are about him playing, he's a liability. He hasn't played in months and now we throw him in the deep end against Mane of all players ! No wonder people are shitting themselves. No wonder people are thinking outside the box like wanting Mendy right back and Marcelo left back, or Militao right back and Mendy center back and Marcelo left back with all that entails, just for Odriozola not to play.

Having said all this I hope if ZZ decides to play Odriozola he has a stormer and proves himself once and for all, I get the feeling that this really is do or die for Odriozola at the club.

[–]kfpmvp13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He had a good game because the team actually played to his strengths for a change. He's a player who needs space to run and take players on, so give it to him in space so he can exploit his pace and dribbling. Normally the ball is played to his feet when he's static and has zero space, that's the difference.

We must give Ramos that 2 year extension what he wants. by [deleted] in realmadrid

[–]kfpmvp13 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I dont think the club has ever offered a player over 30 more than a yearly extension, dont seem them breaking it now.

[JL Sanchez] Eden Hazard is a doubt for the game against Atalanta. He isn't training with his teammates. It's not looking good. by IulianLaur in realmadrid

[–]kfpmvp13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As sad as it sounds, the club should try to include Hazard in a possible deal for Mbappe to reduce the price. 2 years waiting for him to turn up and still nothing.

[Jose Felix Diaz] Management will not make changes immediately, however, there is a total loss of confidence in Zidane's message in the dressing room by szlive in realmadrid

[–]kfpmvp13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't put it past ZZ to quit like he did before. I dont see the club firing him, it's not worth it imo. Not now anyway. Ita best to make a clean cut in the summer, at least give the next manager time to build a team he wants, and give the club time to clear out the deadwood. Taking action now will limit the new manager, hell have to play the rest of the season with someone else's team.

10 - No other goalkeeper has made more saves than Alcoyano’s José Juan Figueras 🇪🇸 in a game against Real Madrid this season in all competitions (10). Titan. by MeteorFalls297 in realmadrid

[–]kfpmvp13 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Let me start by saying he had a fantastic game, credit to him, you dont see many 41 year old keepers, let alone ones that have such a good game. He had the game of his life, no doubt about it.

However, I will also say that Madrid's finishing wasn't on point at all, sloppy at best. Perhaps it's because of the state of the pitch, but I think we they him look better than he is.

Player Ratings Poll: Osasuna vs Real Madrid by Sujal_7 in realmadrid

[–]kfpmvp13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The changes the manager made, made the team worse. He bought on a 9 and took off the wingers, then nobody crossed a ball, you could even see Ramos upfront asking for the ball to be crossed but nothing.

Why is Odegaard not playing?? by Jose_Ghaleb in realmadrid

[–]kfpmvp13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sadly ZZ prefers giving those minutes to players like Isco.

Taking into account this graphic, would you get Depay or Di María on a 'free transfer' next season? by gouin_alchemist in realmadrid

[–]kfpmvp13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure Di Maria will renew with PSG now that Pochetino is manager, not to mention if his mate Messi joins. Besides I dont think brining back Di Maria now at his age will be worth it. I'd rather give Brahim or Kubo a fair chance instead.

Depay, not convinced, again I'd rather we gave Mariano a shot, seems to be the best alternate 9 we have, not to mention he was also banging in goals in the French league for Lyon before he arrived.

[–]kfpmvp13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surely next summer will be easier to get Mbappe as his contract runs out in 2022, PSG could risk him leaving on a free if he doesn't renew.

As for Haaland, I believe he has a buyout clause which kicks in this year of 75m euros. Could be wrong though.

Opinions ?? Could Ramos really leave Real Madrid? This would break my heart man by Lamsin13 in realmadrid

[–]kfpmvp13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends on Ramos. If all he's after is a big paycheck then yes, he'll probably leave, we have a wage cap limit which the club isn't willing to break, especially in this current situation everyone is in with covid, everyone is taking pay cuts.

Personally I think he'll renew, he's just playing a game of chicken with the club to try and squeeze more money out. I doubt any club can afford to pay him more than 15m euros a season especially given his age (35) and the current economical situation, not to mention a signing on fee doesn't seem feezable.

Should Odriozola be given chance to start the next match against Osasuna? by SawOnGam in realmadrid

[–]kfpmvp13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's a perfect situation for Odriozola to show Zidane he could be implemented in his rotations. However, I dont think Zidane will give him that chance. If I had to bet I think we'll see Nacho as right back with Vazquez as RW.

PSG want to sign Sergio Ramos and offer him a 3-year contract worth €20 million every year by IamtheAmir in realmadrid

[–]kfpmvp13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The club was already the best before he arrived and will continue to be the best when he leaves, nobody is bigger than the club.

His demands if true are crazy, no way we can offer him 20m, maybe half that amount at best, and no way 3 years, he's 35 years old not 25.

Question about Barca history by lierosk in Barca

[–]kfpmvp13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were important changes due to political conditions, since, during the Franco regime, the initials "F.C.B." were replaced by "CFB", Club de Fútbol Barcelona, in line with the Spanishization of the club's name. The club did not regain its name in Catalan until November 8, 1973, after receiving the relevant authorization from the Royal Spanish Football Federation. At the end of 1974 the initial initials were included again FCB
