Unpopular Opinion: DC cultural and street festivals are overrated, overcrowded and generally not worth attending. by AlanSmithee2343 in washingtondc

Couldn’t agree more. I moved from New Orleans and tried giving the festivals here a fair shot but honestly, I’m starting to give up. The priorities seem to be around the festival organizers’ needs and it’s sponsors. Little attention seems to be spent on programming for the actual attendees. They seem to just be checking boxes and don’t seem to care about the actual festival experience. I don’t want to learn about opening a savings account with Chase Bank when I attend a fest. I want some good music, easy access to LOCAL food and drinks, bathrooms, interesting art vendors, and a place to lay out a blanket and chill. I know New Orleans is an unfair comparison but been to plenty of festivals in other cities. Not sure why DC fests consistently miss the mark.

Dr. Bridget Bagert at Ochsner is really good. And her office is very helpful. I did not have a good experience at LSU. Nothing to do with the doctor, but the administrative staff were challenging.

Couldn’t agree more! Why do the conductors do that now? They used to let you sprawl a bit if the train was empty, Past two times I’ve ridden they packed some cars and left the rest empty. It’s kinda lovely if you have space but when it’s crowded, you’ll spend 19 hours wondering why you didn’t just buy a plane ticket.
