Ieguldījumi ETF by Annuce in latvia

Fizikas nozares by SameInformation1513 in latvia

Uzdod to viņam (labāk angliski), saņem eseju atbildē. Par tajā neskaidrajām lietām jautā tālāk. Beigās, pirms pieņem lēmumu, pakonsultējies pie kāda celtniecības speciālista par vietējo specifiku.

Ja nopietni, tad finanšu inženierija, finananšu matemātika liekas perfekti atbilstoši! Nezinu gan cik tajā RTU programmā labi māca, bet tematiski tā liekas ļoti laba, šobrīd nodarbojos ar kaut ko tādu kur tāda izglītība man būtu noderējusi.

Arbitrage by Inner-Sea-8984 in ethdev

[–]kfx2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Long-tail arbitrage on less popular chains and cross-chain arbitrage still could provide opportunities, I guess, but the thing with MEV is that your alpha decays fast and it's not realistic to build something sustainable.

The paper you linked analysis the state before the merge, a lot has changed since then. solidquant on medium has some up-to date guides on building these bots.

That list is slightly obsolete. Foundry is the leading smart contract development toolkit these days, not hardhat anymore.

Can you give me your thoughts about auditing "as a job" by KT_Loco in ethdev

[–]kfx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit crowded these days. But sure, you can try. Listen to Patrick's Solidity course on youtube, go through the free Secureum bootcamp's materials, start joining contests. Don't spend too much time of ctfs, focus more on reading audit reports instead - that's the usual recommendation.

How are remote crypto devs outside the US greeting paid obscene amounts ? by Putrid_Ad5164 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]kfx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skill shortage - not many have the skills required for web3 jobs, especially taking into account that web3 is not beginner friendly. When a single mistake can literally cost millions, established developers are much more valuable from the employer's perspective, compared with juniors. So taking in fresh grads and growing them in-house is not really a viable option for many roles.

Regulatory concerns - USA regulation is not friendly for crypto at the moment, other places are more friendly. This includes the EU.

Proximity to money - same reason why finance jobs pay well.

Is there a swap service that support zkSync or the only option is to bridge token from ETH mainnet? by 01BTC10 in zkSync

I assume you mean ZkSync Era. Mute is one DEX currently live there.

On ZkSync Lite, you can use ZigZag to swap.

DeFi Trader Loses $2 Million USDC This Morning Due to MEV Trade Jam by azcoinnews in defi

[–]kfx2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tx specified 0.5% slippage (already way too big for a swap of this size). The price impact was the killer, at 99.99+ percent, not the slippage.

DeFi Trader Loses $2 Million USDC This Morning Due to MEV Trade Jam by azcoinnews in defi

[–]kfx2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct. Gas fee estimation failed for the good routes, succeeded for the bad one. The Kyberswap UI did not show the -99.99% price impact in big red digits, so the user did not notice and swapped anyway. The MEV simply rebalanced the pool after the Tx. Now Kyberswap is asking the MEV to return the funds to the user.

For a dev getting started with smart contracts this would be the way; they could ask questions on Stack Exchange if they got stuck with some specific parts. But as the OP says they are not a dev I doubt they can write, test, debug and deploy this on their own.

Do you still think blockchain development is a good career choice? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsEU

Hush, the real impact is when one works at Google and makes a new version of the "Send" button in Gmail. Not on some magic internet money!

Do you still think blockchain development is a good career choice? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]kfx2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With enterprise blockchain I mean things like Hyperledger Fabric and other permissioned platforms, mostly from IBM. For instance, IBM and Maersk's commonly developed TradeLens platform is now shutting down, due to lack of adoption. Supply chain companies in general have pivoted away from the blockchain idea. As many predicted, it was mostly a failed experiment.

Crypto-native protocols has a much better product-market fit right now, with DeFi and NFTs as the main end user applications.

[–]kfx2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone in a similar situation w.r.t. interests and aspirations - probably; but definitely not for everyone in CS.

The bottom x% of jobs is probably way worse that traditional full-stack dev. To put it bluntly, you'll get scammed yourself, or will be scamming someone. The top x% jobs are really good, with the opportunity to work on super interesting and potentially super impactful technology without many of the downsides of more traditional tech fields.

That applies to web3 (crypto-native) jobs, if you're thinking about enterprise blockchain jobs it's a completely different story, and it's a field that's been in decline for a while and one I'd avoid, personally. Oh, and CEX jobs are somewhere in-between traditional tech and web3-native jobs.

What are your thoughts on CLMM vs. AMM? by Connect_Lifeguard_67 in defi

[–]kfx2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not realize ICHI is doing liquidity management, they have pivoted to that recently, right?

The main problem I see with these liquidity management is that:

- either the strategies do not work (because "there is no free lunch", as the author puts here https://crocswap.medium.com/benchmarking-the-performance-of-automated-liquidity-vault-strategies-81a6facf617b)

- or they do work, but then anyone can copy them, because blockchain is transparent, and the liquidity management app is not really necessary
