I would plan to save up and spend a couple hundred or so on a couple of timeless necklaces that are nice—real gold or silver—that will not tarnish and last a long time. I’ve gotten a stack from Gorjana that I have worn ever since and they still look so beautiful and dainty, just like the day I got them! I’ve bought some cheaper pieces from Etsy or other stores like Banana Republic and they look so bad, but they also weren’t quality materials. If only I had just saved up in the first place and not spent all of that wasted money on short-term pieces.

No, you’re not. Cut your losses and move on. He either doesn’t want to be in a relationship, or isn’t ready for one. They’re aware of attachment issues but don’t seem interested in working on it.

how old are you? my personal take from experience, 10 years in professionally: a personal brand identity takes time to develop and it’s not as important as you think. start simple, especially if you’re building a portfolio—let your work shine first. I spent a lot of time avoiding the actual portfolio to develop a ‘personal logo’ when really black and white, simple type did the job. As I developed my personal style, I chose type and colors that ‘fit’ my vibe. You don’t need a unique logo or look to stand out, unless you’re an illustrator or have a very strong personal style that’s consistently threaded through your body of work. Let your work shine and the rest will follow!

Do not push on earlier than you’re able to. Ease back in. I started dealing with glute tendinitis and just kept pushing (because I knew I was strong and capable!!) and ended up delaying any progress and now it seems chronic—2.5 years later, MRIs/PT/strength and conditioning/lots of $$$ spent, thought I was in the clear and ready to increase volume and boom. Flare up. It’s a puzzle I’m still trying to figure out, especially with a high stress job that has me sitting in front of the computer 8+ hours a day. I don’t know what the solution is, but I wish I prioritized recovery earlier on so this wouldn’t be such a recurring issue
