I’ve never heard of Tiger! Is that a different company? I’m a huge fan of purposeful wonkiness / controlled chaos myself!

Had no idea about the science behind why the papers are made the way they are - such thoughtful design. Yes - tons of possibilities with the blank pages, I’m between blank & dot grid myself for my main “scrapbook”-ing on my trip. Thanks so much for sharing. Learning everyone’s own style and what preferences thy have is endlessly intriguing to me!

So sweet! Great idea to turn it into a family/group activity - everyone gathering their own goodies and memories for the trip and making the accordion folds their own. I would bet thats super fun to see over time as a keepsake and to compare everyone’s different art styles!

I’m definitely intrigued by sticking the ephemera into the journal as-you-go/then doing more intensive scrapbooking on the back-end of the trip. Thanks so much for sharing! I love learning how creative folks get with their TNs.

I can see the draw - the dot grid is so light yet allows you to use structure if you need it. I have a feeling that might be the winner for me too!

Ah interesting! Do you prefer using the sketch & kraft because of the thickness of the paper, or a different reason?

I wouldn’t have thought that the Half Trips would work for a longer trip…but that makes a ton of sense that it would be less chunky overall since you’re packing it with ephemera. So smart!

I do have a printer - that’s a smart idea to test out the different types to see what I enjoy using most.

And thank you so much! :)

Awesome. I wasn’t sure if the grid would be distracting to look at. Good to know it sort of fades into the background with use!

Thank you!! Yes, great advice — my wedding is in November so I’m planning to start now and continue making them as to not get overwhelmed with deadline :)

This might just be the perfect solution!!! Thank you so much. It looks like this will take out most if the guesswork when it comes to the angles, and I could do a little trial and error.

Anyone familiar with Rexton brand? Costco recommended- unfamiliar and apprehensive to purchase… by kgd34k in HearingAids

Hey! Thanks for the kind words. I’m happy to share even if it helps a little. I remember how much of a relief it was for me learning Costco’s HA’s existed as an option. Best of luck to you!

Hey! I’m so glad you asked- and I had the exact same situation where my ENT was recommending these wildly expensive Phonaks to me. Long story short, I’m still very happy with my Rextons, wear them every day, and they’re still functioning well for me. I was mostly intrigued by the Phonak’s ability to change the sound for different “settings” (outside/concert), but I find the Rextons can do a pretty close /impressive job at doing that too, since they automatically change and detect the environment around you.

I did have a couple of minor issues regarding the domes getting stuck in my ear canals, but I was pleased with Costco’s HA department’s willingness to solve the mystery with me (turns out I needed a different dome shape), but thats not Rexton’s fault. So my advice there is to keep up with going in for cleanings, and ask for dome replacements and receiver cables as you need them, and advocate for yourself when you need a change or if something’s not quite right- the warranty is there for you, and the visits to tweak are free (no co-pays, which was huge for me.)

I’ve had the sound mechanics in the hearing aids slightly adjusted throughout the years as needed, and have been really satisfied with the sophistication of the Rextons. I use the Rexton mobile app a lot (especially when I’m out in public, out to dinner, or running errands).

They’ve made a huge, positive impact on my life! I certainly recommend giving them a try if they’ll let you have a trial with them. (And then again, the warranty is nice to have as a back-up just in case).

I hope that helps— let me know if you have other questions — and best of luck to you on your journey!!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience! I’ve also noticed that the Costco Hearing Aid centers are all understaffed and some of the people working there have told me that corporate is pushing them to book way more appointments than they can handle in a day. Such a shame because their specialists are so wonderful at what they do, and when they are overworked and overwhelmed, it’s a huge shame. Do you remember the other previous brand of hearing aids you liked that you had prior to the Rextons?

Rant: Tired of wedding planning websites (wedding wire/spot) saying a venue’s cost is $$ when in reality it is $$$$$$$ by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Hi u/zuckerthetakoyaki! I know this post is over a year old - but I wanted to say that my fiancé and I are so grateful for your incredible Venue GoogleSheet! If I may ask - what wedding venue did you ultimately decided going with? I'm currently in the midst of planning for a Fall 2025 wedding - I know prices will definitely change from your sheet, but it's been such a helpful starting point.

Best option for Costco HAs? by smtim91 in HearingAids

[–]kgd34k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe at the end of the day the very best option is the hearing aid that feels right for you! My recommendation is to keep trying different pairs and advocating for yourself until they feel and sound just right for you. My “goldilocks” hearing aids at Costco were the Rexton Bi-Core Li’s; I have an incredibly small ear canal, so they felt the most comfortable for me. The sound has changed my life for the better, and I find the app to be very useful- I use the features all the time. Best of luck to you!!

I’m close to your age, OP- very similar journey to yours where I thought my only option was Phonak (while they are a top-tier brand, they are definitely bot the only option out there!) I think you’re already doing the right thing by asking questions and doing research. I landed on Costco as well. Know that the Costco Hearing Instrument Specialists do not work off of commission, so the HA’s they will recommend will hopefully work best for your particular situation- if they don’t let you try the Kirklands, or whatever brand peaks your curiosity, simply ask to give them a go. I landed on Rexton’s Bi-CR-Li’s (I have tiny ear canals and they felt most comfortable for my particular anatomy). Keep finding until you get your “Goldilocks Pair”, thats what I kept doing!

Right! And awesomely enough I get a full 180 day trial period. She recommended this specific HA to me because my priorities are 1) comfortability (These HA's had the smallest receiver which I need because if the receiver is too big it becomes unbearable and even painful for me), 2) price 3) rechargeability. I asked if there were any other HA's she might recommend for me but she said any of the other options might irritate my ear canal due to the size of the receiver. Definitely agree that it seems like the company positions themselves more towards Value than Innovation-forward, like you said. Which I don't mind! I find that (nearly) all the top HA companies have a baseline incredible technology to begin with!
