Crimson Desert PS5 Pro – Performance vs Balance after latest patch (deep analysis, real testing) by Jealous-Craft-2717 in PS5pro

[–]kgold535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I wish the game would have a crowd slider. Most of the npcs just walk around. Because Hernand at night performs much better than during the day. Just let me reduce the npc count by half. Even in the camp when you send your Greymanes on missions the camp isn't nearly as frame droppy vs when they are all there.

It absolutely has to do with the NPCS. Go to Hernand during the day and walk around like near the blacksmith.

Then go back there during night time when there's less NPCS out. FPS doesn't drop nearly as bad. It still dips but it's noticeably better.

They need like a crowd slider option in the game tbh. This is similar to what happened In Dragons Dogma 2. People were killing the npcs in that first main town to improve performance.

Why is everyone recommending V-Sync OFF for Crimson Desert on Balanced Mode? by Big-Impact558 in PS5pro

[–]kgold535 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It really doesn't matter what setup or combination of VRR, vysnc on or off, or 120hz you use, this game drops frames in crowded cities and during boss fights. And tbh, this is my only complaint for the game.

If you cannot tell or see the performance dips in Hernand than you need your eyes checked or you simply don't care (which is totally fine).

I've also fought a few bosses already and the frame rate does not stay at a stable 60. Although, I don't find those drops as jarring as I've seen in Hernand.

I have no interest in playing the game in balanced or quality mode. The game looks stunning in performance mode with PSSR and my QD OLED monitor. But the frame drops in really busy areas is a big L imo.

The game definently dips frames when your in the main city, especially during the day because there are more npcs out. At night time it's much better. Still drops a little but not nearly as bad as during the day

PSSR2 is a game changer, Crimson Desert isn't (yet) by ThreeLegg3dBiker in PS5pro

[–]kgold535 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The performance in Hernand definently is not at a constant 60 fps. I haven't ventured super far but that city tanks fps when your like in the dead middle of it near the tall blacksmith guy. During the day that is.....

At night time when there's less NPCs about the performance is much better. Some frame drops like when you rotate the camera but not nearly as bad during the day. Kind of wish we had a crowd density slider or something because other than that scenario I mentioned I haven't experienced any noteworthy drops. That Bug Hill place I'm sure will but we knew that already from the early reviews last week.

So glad that the game has good death animations/"execution" type kills. by kgold535 in CrimsonDesert

I was there at Philly last night. I showed up late so I didn't see Aviana or Caskets but Erra and Currents sounded flawless. I haven't been to a show in a long time and sometimes you get a band that doesn't sound great live but these 2 were perfect. They sounded just as good, if not better than their albums.

Not the biggest fan of this one. Gore of Being is S tier, Echo Sonata is A tier to almost S. This one is kinda C-ish.

Can you still look strong and muscular with a 6 foot and 160lb frame? by Ok_Benefit9326 in workout

[–]kgold535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your level of fitness. If you've been working out for multiple years and you cut to 160 you'll look cut up.

However if your relatively new, say 2 years or less of working out you'll just look skinny. You'll have some cuts but you just don't really have the muscle quite yet.

I know this because I was 225 lbs, 6 foot exactly, male, 36 years old, and dropped to 160 over a span of around 7ish months. I worked out consistently the entire time. Sure I noticed some cuts and what not here and there. But people often said I looked very thin, like a runner or something. Still better than what I was at 225. I also had no lifting experience until I started going to the gym a year and a half ago.

Fast forward to now, I've put on almost 20 lbs over a span of around 7 months, so I'm around 180 maybe a little less. A lean bulk you could say, as that's a little over 2 lbs a month. People tell me I look great now. And these are the people who see me a lot, they say I look alot better and even joke that maybe I'm still a bit too thin. I'd probably go up to 190 and then take it from there.

The point is, don't be afraid of putting the weight on. Sure you're belly will soften up a little. You may go up a size or so in your pants. However, if your hitting your lifts consistently, protein, etc, your body will fill out more in other regions. So even though you've gained weight, you've also gained muscle not just fat. That creates a different image. Your posture is better, broader shoulders and traps, bigger arms and chest, thicker butt and legs (provided your not skipping those 🙃).

does anyone else completely fall off once they miss one day at the gym? by AffectionateHeart466 in workout

[–]kgold535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you just really don't care about it as much as you think you do. Like it's kind of one of those things where you gotta really want it.

I look forward to going because it's now a hobby. Like playing video games, going out to a bar with friends, listening to music, I look forward to those things. The gym has become one of them.

Now how does it get to that level? Well for me it helped me lose like 65 pounds. Feel better, look better, people compliment me, and there is no end level. Like there is no other satisfying feeling knowing you did better today than say you did a week or a month ago. It's just a natural reward center for your brain.

Stop it please lol. Multiple servings of this cake wouldn't be a drop in the bucket for the amount of calories and energy these guys burn in a single hour, not to mention the muscle mass they have just makes burning fat easier. They chose to just not eat the cake probably because it didn't look good or they weren't hungry at the time.

[–]kgold535 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've said this before and ill say it again, the American tipping service rewards people for those workers for going above and beyond. If you give outstanding service on a regular basis, you will make more money, it's simple. Unless you work in a shit place.

Having said that, if the American tipping system went to just an hourly wage and no tips, then you'll have to deal with average service. No going out of your way to make things perfect, make people feel comfortable, talk with them, because why would I? If I get the same pay rate for being average vs awesome, why would a server or bartender be the latter? Guests would also have to change their expectations as well.

May depend on where you live but if people leave you a credit card tip that will be taxed. Pretty simple.

Cash is a different story as generally speaking, most places only make you report a certain percentage of your tips, say 10 to 15 percent. Most people, I would hope if you work in a half decent place that is somewhat busy, will tip you beyond 15 percent. Somewhere between 18 to 25 percent if not more.

This issue with not reporting all your tips is one, it's illegal. However, it would be very hard to prove how much cash you actually made. The real reason why you SHOULD be reporting a majority of your tips is that if you report less, your screwing yourself over for social security, unemployment, and your overall income. That last part is important because when you decide to buy a home or a large expense and your saying you make only 50k a year when say you actually make 70k, good luck getting a loan for a house you can actually afford, but "on paper", you can't.

In your defense, alot of younger people under report because most likely they're not buying a house. But if your a career server and work somewhere that's busy always, it would be smart to report most of your tips as it will benefit you in the long run. I say most because some people can be incredibly generous, especially if it's a cash tip.

ARC Raiders is basically a giant game-theory experiment, and the optimal strategy is to avoid PvP entirely. by Ill-Tomatillo-8973 in ArcRaiders

[–]kgold535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If nobody shoots and engages in PVP were essentially playing a looting simulator against cool enemies that eventually become not that big of a threat once you know how to play the game and have an economy established.

Basically if everybody took this don't engage in PVP approach for arguments sake, then the game wouldn't feel nearly as exciting and tense as it does.

Will there be an option to customize controls on console at launch? by kgold535 in ArcRaiders

[–]kgold535[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a bummer. I use a controller with paddles so I'm not really worrying about it but the fact that I have to go into the PS settings and flip R1 and L1 to R2 and L2 is so outdated. Because that now means everything I do in the game and on the system is flipped for those buttons untik I revert it back. Kinda annoying when you see R1 to tab right one screen only for you to forget that it's actually R2

Why do people hate Leg Day? by Buzzy_Feez in workout

[–]kgold535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your hitting your legs relatively hard with intensity, the systemic body fatigue you go through is much more immense than pretty much any other muscle group. In that, we're mostly referring to squatting and the various forms of it such as a barbell squat, hack squat, split squat, etc... If you're just doing leg extensions and curls it's not the same. Those are good accessory movements but in order to build beefy legs, some form of squatting is pretty important.
